				   | Today I had a friend stop by to visit I was still getting ready for the day so she let the dogs out, we'll I finish getting ready and find it funny Harley is not at my feet, as he follows me everywhere. My friend says oh I let the dogs out so I run to the back door as the back of our fence is rot iron for a few of he mountains. Harley is never allowed outside alone, I open the back door to see 4 kids trying to get Harley thru our fence and drop him and run down the hill from our house... What's even worse, they had shovels with them!!! I am glad I went out when I did, now I wish Harley wasn't so friendly and insist that everyone pets him.....

				   | Wow. With that kind of neighbor you need some good security. The SPCA and other humane organizations have put out alerts that there has been a large raise in the amount of Yorkies and other toy breed dogs being stolen. It has been on the national news as well. The dogs have been taken from backyards and during home break ins. You need to be careful. These dogs are so popular that thieves can get quick money for them. |

				   | Thing like this make me so mad! I am so sorry you went through this. First thing I did after I closed escrow was hire someone to build a 7 ft tall privacy fence all the way around my backyard. My pack is never out there without me. If I went outside and saw this I would start shooting! I was walking around my neighborhood a week ago and my 6 year old yt was walking and my 13 week biewer was in my arms, a pair of guys pull up next to me saying what nice dogs I had..... I go so scared. Nothing happened but it reminds you of all the things that could happen. Some days you just want to not roll out of bed. |

 The other day a lady pulled up next to my dh who was walking our three. She said she had been looking for us in our old neighborhood because she found a yorkie and posted signs etc but no one responded. She thought it was our yorkie because she had seen us walking often (before we moved). That was nice of her to look for us. She also said if she didn't find the owner she would keep the yorkie. My dh said we would take him/her ![]() ![]() He also said to check for micro chip etc

				   | I was walking Amirah and had a guy start asking about my dog...how much they costs and everything. He was eyeballing her and saying he knows they are really expensive. I didn't like it at all and told him she was just a mutt and not worth a dime. I wasn't sure he believed me so I circled the neighborhood a few times waiting for him to leave before I took her inside I didn't want him knowing where I live at all. Since I live in an apartment she is never more than five feet from my arms outside, I dont have to worry too much about her getting stole while out so except in a mugging, but so help me if anyone touches her, I would be cleaning up the sidewalk with their face. I might have only had my little munchkin for four weeks or so, but she is my little daughter and as I am sure everyone her knows there ain't nothing scarier than a mother with a threatened baby. Anyways I am glad nobody managed to steal your baby! |

				   |      I know of larger dogs, too, that have been removed from inside fenced yards and never seen again.  A little Yorkie isn't much of a challenge.  One of my own larger (but not huge...about mid-sized 50-70 lbs.) Shep/Labs was let out of our back fence while no one was home once.  I found her wandering, but on the other side of a very busy highway.  While I was 'navigating' her back across the highway using hand signals...too noisy for voice and she was very well trained for both, a Sheriff's Deputy stopped to verify she was my dog...which he could instantly see by her obedience and devotion once on my side of the road...     ...and informed me that in the area we lived at the time, dogs were being taken and were being used in the Forest FOR TARGET PRACTICE!!!  People who have not had little dogs (or even cats) often do not realize the dangers to small dogs are very much different in many ways than dangers to larger dogs, and theft by people or as "prey" by wild critters is a huge concern to their owners. I am so sorry your friend was not aware of these sorts of dangers, but even more importantly, I am soooo glad you got there when you did and saved your baby from being stolen!   It would be so much worse for everyone if things had been different. The good thing that's come of that situation is that NOW you KNOW your neighboring children CANNOT BE TRUSTED!     And...I think that's just about the saddest thing ever.  ![]() ![]() {{{Hugs}}}

   I have heard that people who train their dogs to fight use small dogs as bait to get the dogs to learn to kill. It just turns your stomach to think that people use animals for such horrible inhuman purposes. Such horrible practices make selling the dog for money look tame. | |

				   | wow that is so sad, did you recognize the kids, I wonder what their plan for the shovel was. It's so hard to trust friends with your dogs, I have learned my lesson several times. 26 years ago I had my first yorkie Reggie and I would let him out to potty off leash even though we did not have a fenced in yard, for some reason he always stayed on my property. (I never would do that now) I was running late one day and called my neighbor who had a key I asked her if she could let Reggie "out" she said sure no problem. When I came home he was nowhere in the house, I was frantic so I called her on the phone and asked where my dog was. She said I think he is still sitting by the side of your house huddled against the wall. I said WHAT why is he outside, she said you asked me to let him "out" you never said you wanted me to let him back in!!!!!!!!!! She did not have a dog but for the life of me I could not figure how someone could be so stupid. One time I let my aunt's dog outside when they were at my parents house, and I left her out there with my dog, the yard was fenced but boy was my aunt pissed at me for letting her dog out when she did not know about it. I learned my lesson then don't mess with anyone else's dog because everyone treats them different. I am just so glad you got out there in the nick of time.

				   | OMGosh !!! I am so glad you saved Harley ! I know I am over the top drama queen, a lot of the time, and I worry way too much. I panic if I can't find all my Yorkies inside the house. I am so afraid that the lawn guys will leave the fence gates open, I put locks on, which we have to lock and unlock with a key. It cost us extra money to have cement put at the bottom of the fence, but some one could easily dig under it with a shovel !
