YT 500 Club Member | omg! Omg, zooeys up to her spunky self. Caught her jumping off the couch this morning. So I put a dress on her, and she weirdly went into her kennel. She's just laying there looking all depressed. Tried to feed her, and she has no interest at all. Is this normal?

| If she's not used to being dressed or just doesn't want to be dressed today, she could be in the "give up" mode, as some of them do when dressed against their will. Or she could be feeling bad, coming down with something. Could have been scared or worried about something going on in the house; with the family, other pets in the house, if any; heard a strange sound she's worried about - something like that. Why don't you try undressing her and see if that perks her up. If not, just keep an eye on her and watch for further symptoms, etc., get her into the vet if anything worrisome develops. Hope it's nothing - just a spot of rebellion or her having a funky day.

Zachary's Mom Donating Member | My Yoshi, Japanese Chin, does the same thing. She stands like a statue and stares straight ahead, for what seems like forever. If I don't take her clothes off, she will just pee where is standing. Zachary is OK but I started him when he was young. Yoshi is older, almost 2. Louise |

| You should try and keep her calm... She shouldn't be jumping yet I would just keep an eye on her... Maybe the clothing is a good idea to keep her from ripping her stitches. Is she still on pain meds?

| Stitches? Did she just have surgery or an injury repair? I missed that. Could be she's hurting and not feeling well or the stitches are pulling, something like that? If she hasn't been bothering the stitches before, she probably won't now, even without her dress. I'd see if taking the clothing off makes a difference at all.

| That is normal when they are getting used to clothing but if she has stitches it could be irritating that area

| she may want to jump - Mandie sure does, but try to keep her from doing that. It may pull her stitches. I've had my hands full trying to keep Mandie from jumping and wanting to rough-house with her big brother. It's a good sign though...she must be feeling better.

| Princess does this until she comes up with a method of properly destroying her dress so it can never be worn again!. I dont love how we have the living room arranged but we have to have the back of the couch against the wallotherwise we're risking broken legs with these dare devils here.

| Is she eating yet? I wanted to suggest something to entice her to eat - I had to do this with Mandie the morning after surgery. I just drizzled some chicken broth over her kibble and she ate it right up.

YT 500 Club Member | Yes, zooey had surgery. She hates wearing dresses even before surgery. It just helps her calm down so she doesnt rip her stitches open. She s feeling much better, and is on pain meds. She's a jumper on furniture, so the dress stops her from doing so. She's eating again and feeling much better, thanks guys!!

| No advice on topic, but if you decide to try the broth thing be careful if you're buying it instead of making it. I've only found 1 brand here without onion powder or extract in it, and no beef broth at all. |
