Senior Yorkie Talker | ![]() He's sleeping in his crate now. c: He is a very calm, quiet puppy. The breeder said they raise them to not be barkers. I haven't heard one peep out of him. Soo cute when my pit bull met him they just sniffed each other nose to nose and wagged tails. Then my pit bull just went and layed down minding his own business. The cats are not loving him much. Which I guess is normal, because cats dont usually like change. One hissed, (no clawing or biting, just a hiss) and the other cat smelled him, and ran away to observe. The breeder fed them good healthy holistic dog food, they gave us a ziploc bag full, but tomorrow my mom is picking up some wellness puppy food for him so we can slowly switch foods without upsetting his tummy. ^.^ Oh and they named him Dalton ![]()

| ![]() Congrats on your new little guy! Hopefully the non barking thing will continue, but just as a warning, ours didnt make a noise til he was like 4 months old, and he hasnt shut up since! *winks* Yorkies make interesting noises-they do this "talking" and barking. We taught Jaeger to talk instead of bark when he wants something by praising him when he talked, and when he barked, taught him to get quiet, then mimicked his talking noise and praised him when he mimicked us. Now, if he gets barky, all I have to say is "No bark. You can talk" and he'll switch over.

| ![]() I hope things remain calm. Your right on about the cats. They will not accept the puppy until he starts to take on the scents of your home. Some Yorkies love to chase cats so when he gets a little older you may find that a challenge. What are your potty training plans? Outside? Puppy pads? How did the first night go? |

He started to poo on the floor but we got him out in time. Last night he stayed in a cat carrier with food water, blanket and newspaper. He managed too pee all over himself :P My mom I calling around and hoping to get him into the groomer soon.

| ![]() How old is this puppy? If he hasn't had all his shots he really should not go to the groomer yet. |

| ![]() Congratulations on your new puppy. It sounds like you are wise beyond your years... Something we normally don't see in new posters ![]() I'm glad you are aware of the size difference and that Dalton could be injured by your larger dog... Even if he doesn't mean to! I wish you luck with your family. Continue learning about yorkies and you will be an expert before you know it!

| ![]() It is really important, with a puppy especially, to have all it's shots before going out in pubic and in particular to a place where other dogs are. A puppy is especially prone to pick up things just from being put in the same cage or on the same grooming table another dog has been or from just walking where another person or dog has walked. They can just step where somewhere else has tracked in a virus and get very ill. It takes a series of shots to build up their immunity to the deadly diseases that are out there. |

Senior Yorkie Talker | ![]() Thank you everyone! Today when my sisters woke up and saw the puppy they said "Lets name him Buddy!" And although my parents had already named him Dalton, They ended up letting them name him Buddy anyways. Anywho, I am making a journal for Buddy! Please check it out! ![]()
