| Zachary's Mom Donating Member | First of all, I HATE Pitbulls. I know, "mine isn't like that" but I still don't like them at all and think having/breeding them should be outlawed. Off my soapbox now. I am so sorry about your baby. I agree that the wound should NOT have been closed completely. I would go to another vet if I were you. I had a similar people experience. I had major abdominal surgery that was sutured shut with staples. I was in the hospital a week. I was surprised to see the doctor did not put in a drain. Well, when I went to get the staples out, it BURST open and the drainage shot way up in the air, shocking the surgeon half to death. Needless to say, I had a major infection and had a big hole in my abdomen. It took weeks of wound treatment at the hospital as well as HEAVY dosages of antibiotics (which, BTW, caused an allergic reaction with a head to toe horribly itchy rash). Your baby needs to be on antiobiotics for sure and as I said before, you need to find a new vet. I won't be going back to the surgeon that did my surgery anytime soon. Praying, Louise |

| I'm so glad your dog is going to be okay. My mom's dogs were killed by pit bulls that entered her house in September. Sad sad day- glad your baby is okay. |
