YorkieTalk Newbie! | Newby Hi, I'm new here and want to introduce myself. I'm Carolyn and the proud owner of 2 Yorkies, Bella (2) & Mattie (8mo.). Bella was a year old when a friend that was moving & couldn't take her, gave her to me. She's very refined acting, weighs about 10 lbs & is taller than some. She's quite stand offish & doesn't socialize with company. Very independent. Now Mattie is so different. I got her at 6 wks old weighing 1.1#. She gained a lb. a month til she was 5 mo. old. She's kinda tall & bigger than I expected her to get. Her hair is fluffy & not at all like Bella's. She is very ornery, chews everything & wants to play rough with us all the time. Her biting is getting easier so maybe she'll settle down by the time she's 1 yr. Potty training is so-so. Getting better. I crate her at night. I failed to mention that we also have a Pekienese about 11 and a Chiauaha (sp?) about 5. They all get along well. The old lady stays to herself & the other 3 play together alot. I notice that Mattie's ears are floppy & have read some blogs on here about it. Don't understand how cottage cheese could help but guess I'll give it a try & massaging them. Hope they stand up but will love her anyway. We love them all. |

| Welcome to YorkieTalk. Generally at 8 months if the ears are floppy there are going to stay that way but I love floppy ears they are so cute. I recommend doing training to stop the bitting because it's not nessisarily something they just grow out of they have to be taught not to do. Also in the future please don't take a yorkie pup home until they are 12 weeks old. YorkieTalk is such a great place and I swear I learn at least one new thing a day.
