| Ohmygoodness, laughing so hard. It's really not funny what happened but the line about the coffee just got me. I'll bet you don't need coffee for a good while after that. Would have scare the panties off me! Glad all are okay!

| Eeeeeek! Interesting coincidence, we have a possum who loves our grill too. Must be the scent of the drippings.

| possum About 5 years ago, my MIss Minnie ran out the back door and attacked a possum, which appeared to be bigger than her, in our back yard. She had a hold of it and it shook her hard, breaking her jaw in 3 places. She came running back in the house with blood coming from we could not tell where. X-Ray showed the breaks, which required surgery and wiring the jaw back together. She recovered, but it sure gave us a scare. These little dogs can sure be fearless. The first two Yorkies I had used to bail off of our bed in attack mode, shortly after the alarm went off in the mornings. Both aimed straight for my hubby's pet cocker, parked in the hall, outside of the shower waiting for my husband to exit. It was very definite who was in charge here... She outweighed each easily by 25 or more pounds, but she was scared to death of the little minxes. Like I said, "fearless." Cathie |

| One morning I took Presley out to potty and he got wind of something and took off running to the side of the yard. I took off after him thinking he was after a squirrel. By the time I got to him he was barking his head off in a standoff with a possum. That thing was just hissing away at him. Luckily he came to me when I called him. I scooped him up and walked back towards the house and on the embankment behind the house were three other good sized possums. Oh man, was he lucky not to have seen them!

| After reading this, we're moving the grill off the deck and further away from the house. Glad Ian was in safe hands.

| That is so scary We had a huge raccoon in our backyard yesterday morning You can't be too careful especially in the early morning when it's still dark.

| Opossums are kind of scary looking creatures but they really do not have much of a defense system. They usually get killed by bigger dogs and hit by cars because they are slow moving. Their teeth and claws are not even as hurtful as a cat's. I do admit they are scarry looking things though. They are at the bottom of the food chain because they have no real defense (which only works on people) even bunnies and squirrels can out run them. |
