| Modified Silk Coat? This is probably a dumb question, but all this time I thought Max just had a plain silk coat, but today someone commented about him having a "modified silk coat". Could someone tell me what that is? Dumb question. I know.

| I would love more info on the coat types. I remember the breeder telling me about Columbo's coat when he was a baby, but I can't remember which she said he has. He HATES(!!) to be groomed or brushed, so I keep him in a puppy cut always. If it does grow, its very wavy and thick, and he's very silvery colored. If anyone could explain the differences, that would be great. |

Donating YT 4000 Club Member | We call a modified silky coat, a dog that has a fuller coat, My Harrison has a fuller waivier coat, not as silky and thiner as my Chanel, still I was able to show him eons ago, unlike now that the Super silky thinner coat is the glamour of silky terriers. I am thinking it would be the same in the Yorkshire breed. hugs, |

| Uni is a true silk coat, even on the thin side of silk. BUT her butt is wavy. What?! I've never had any experience with any TRUE cotton coats with any of my fosters until Scraps here. Oh man I thought Chloe had a cotton coat? Oh no. Scraps coat is like seriously a cotton ball growing out his skin. OMG thick fluffy and matted like crazy. You got a modified coat? Count your blessings it's not cottony. But to answer your wavy hair question, just bc its wavy doesn't mean it's cottony or modified or silky. Scraps hair grows out straight but it's COTTONY!

| So modified silk coat is a "mega coat" or is it a combination coat...or both? Elvis is silky on his head and back and his white under belly and legs (he's a full parti) are extremely cottony does this make him a modified silk coat too?

| Since hes mainly cottony on his body Id say hes cotton coat. My jewels is that way her head is like a silk coat it neverr matts, her body slightly matts when it gets long. A little bit of matting not extreme matting, Ive been told shes modified. Its inbetween a silk and a cotton
