| Maybe my Yorkie is a Silky I got Ellington as a rescue, I was told he was 5, but he's actually over 10 (he was microchipped 10years ago). I did upload my first pics of him here, and the consensus was that he was a yorkie, albeit a teapot! However, now he's grown into him self a bit, and got happier and healthier....I'm not sure anymore. I've just google-image searched Silky and I do feel Ellington looks a bit more like them! I feel a little silly for correcting all of the strangers who have commented on my awesome silky! Are there any telltale signs, or is it always just a guess? |

| Thanks, I'm in the UK....but not sure if that changes anything! Don't get me wrong, I don't care either way, I'm just curious as to what to call him! Yes, at the moment, I call him a big yorkie. |

| Hopefully Carmen will see this post and tell you what she thinks she has and breeds silky's. Sometimes people think just because they are bigger they are more like silky's which isn't always the case. I personally just am not sure he doesn't seem as silky looking as some silky's I have seen but he could be a mix of a yorkie and silky just not sure. He is still such a cutie!

| To me, that is a Yorkie face and head. A Silky, to me, has a taller head, a doggier muzzle and more down face than a Yorkie. That looks like a Yorkie to me, though there are sure enough some Yorkie-looking Silkies! Whatever the terrier breed, your baby is precious!!!

| He could be either. I would think the only way you could find out for sure is to get him DNA tested. Either way, Ellington is adorable

| People tell me all the time that Maggie is a Silky. One guy told me she was definitely a Silky, his mom raised Silkies and he knew a Silky when he saw one.

♥Love My 3 Furrbutts♥ Donating Member | Hmmm, looks like a yorkie to me. Now you have me wondering if my Orion is a silky, he is longer than he is tall, not square like Raelle at all, will post a pic.

| I can tell you exactly what he is...he's adorable!!! I am an expert on adorable so you can be certain of that. Silky vs. Yorkie I am not expert on, however...sorry. Thanks for the pix!

Donating YT 4000 Club Member | Very cute, let's keep that hair off his eyes, silkies tend to get eye infections from the hair going in their eyes, their eyes are a bit delicate. and yes he looks a bit longer than he is tall, how are his ears set? on the top of the head or somewhat to the side of the head? hugs, |
