I have been trying to come up with a way to reverse the hinges so I could leave the lid up all the time and they could sleep inside. I think they are so cute.

They sell them on Etsy for a hefty asking price but I don't know how many they sell. I made one for my kids, kept the lid on with tape since it is just for me. However, my Maine Coon Cat, Phebe has taken it over.

Every time I go to a thrift store, one of the first things I look for is vintage luggage. I thought about making them to sell too since they are relatively cheap to make and it would be easy to underprice the other sellers.
