Would You Buy This for your Yorkie? I made a suitcase dog bed for my dog, and I really love it I just bought an old suitcase at a thrift store, got small furniture legs painted and screwed them on( I had my dad do that part cutting the wood making holes in the suitcase and the wood) I bought a very big fluffy pillow and sewed a cover for it I already had some awesome fabric and I made three small pillows. SO my question is would anyone of you guys buy these suitcase dog beds If I was to start selling them? I think they are pretty neat I have not sewed the pillows all the way so that is why you may see some holes and pillow stuffing in the three pillows. The pillows are more for decoration then anything but they are still pillows that the furbabies can use, my Yorkie Bella loves to rest her head on the pillows. You can also Take the pillows off they are not attached in anyway. Both my 8.5lb Yorkie and 10lb Bichon Frise/ Toy poodle mix love this bed if one is not laying on it the other is so it is super comfy. I could also paint the suitcase any color and use whatever fabric you want. I could not post my photos on here since they were too big but I posted them on Photobucket. wow how pretty is that bed good job. Soft beds in pretty fabrics sell so I think people would buy it. I would buy one if mine used dog beds. There slumbering place of choice is on our couch or our bed. I do buy dog beds for my cats though and they love them |
I think it's a really cute idea! |
Very cute and creative. |
So creative I love it! I would buy it for sure:) I can't say Georgie would use he prefers our furniture as opposed to his own lol |
Thanks everyone, I thought it was just too cute. Even though the one I have is bright it looks really good And I don't mind having it out were people can see it:D if I were to sell it I wonder how I would ship it since it is pretty big. I have to check but it would proably be $80 dollars or so. I really can't take all the credit because I found people sell them on Etsy and really wanted one, but decided to make it instead with the really pretty Fabric that I had sitting around, I did however think of the pillows all the people sell them without pillows. And I think the pillows really add something special to it:thumbup: |
I definitely think there's a market for those! They have a ton on Etsy. I like the vintage ones especially. The only thing is, I'm not sure if my 5 pound pup would be able to get in one :p |
I really like it! Great idea! |
just wanted to bump this thread, so more people can see it:thumbup: I was thinking of maybe selling them on Etsy, I just love everything on Etsy:D |
YES! Sell on Etsy! I  Etsy too. I wish I was more creative so that I could actually make something to sell there. But for now, I'm happy just buying stuff ;) |
It's cute and that way when you travel you can carry all of his accessories inside. |

What do you mean by that? The suitcase dog bed does not have the top on it so, so it does not close it is just the bottom half of the suitcase with the handle and legs attached to it. It is more of one of those nice things that stay at home where everyone can see them and the dogs can use them. I would not recommend you travel with it but that would be up to you. |
Sorry, when I looked I thought it was just made on the top side of a suitcase that was still intact! |
Well how cute is that! I would definitely buy it if I needed a bed. We already have a fancy bed for KS given to us by her grammy, but if we ever added to our home, I think that would be so cute! |
I bought a suitcase a few weeks ago to make my own. I hope to get around to it soon. I love the look of yours. |
