| Baby Yorkie My Winston always wants to lay on his back like a baby. It doesn't matter if I'm sitting with him or picked him up or carrying him. Is this normal? He is a little over 2 years old and he has had a rough life. We have had our share of problems also. I never, ever thought I would be a small dog owner/lover but here I am! He has my heart. |

| Some of them really are suckers for momma's love and cuddles, and will lay easily on their back, just like a baby! I have several that do that, completely relaxed and peaceful! I love it! I think it is adorable, and I will tote them around in my arms like a baby until I realize my arm is about to break off!!!! and they DO capture your heart!!! |

| He could be constantly showing submission for affection due to his previous treatment. Just give him lots of love.

| My Callie always lays on her back like a baby. My other two girls don't like it. We love to cuddle and hold her like this. It is strange because Callie is the one with anxiety issues, but loves to be held on her back. We fight over who gets to hold her. Lol

| Welcome to YorkieTalk! Callie likes to lay like that a lot too but only if I'm holding her I think she gets worried that any one else will drop her. She also will sleep on her back sometimes on her own.

| Thank you everyone for your replies! I'm fascinated by this breed and am trying to learn all I can about them. I have just never seen a dog act like him. Winston's personality just amazes me. :-D |

| Georgie lets us hold him like a baby all the time. It immediately elicits baby talk from his Daddy and I. I tell people all the time he will always be my baby. Yorkies are amazing way more child like than any other breed I just love it!

| My Moka does this too. Sometimes I have to be really careful because she will just literally fall over onto her back and if I'm not ready she could easily fall off the sofa when she does this. LOL. She is very eager to please, and I see this as her way of showing that she trusts us. Plus she gets a tummy rub most of the time...
