Although they are adorable something about their tiny faces looks off...Who in their right mind would 1...want to have such a tiny dog and 2...pay that ridiculous kind of money!!! poor babies...These type of people make me SICK!

Many people are not educated about what to look for, when getting a puppy. They just respond to a heart tugging, tiny face,with big sad eyes.

It is wonderful sites like Yorkie Talk that educate people.

We know lttle flat faces with big eyes may mean an open frontal, water on the brain, shallow eye sockets, breathing problems etc. And we know they don't look right. Not at all like a normal, well bred, healthy yorkie pups, should look.

Hello Hollywood!!! Paris Hilton? Lindsey Lohan? and any of the other dozen and dozen of stars that think toting a puppy in your purse or posing with a tiny puppy in the crook of your arm at all the openings, red carpet walks, etc, is the perfect way to show how unique they are...they have the tiniest, most expensive dog money can buy.......and "one of their people" did all the negotiations on the purchase of that pup....these people could care less about where that baby came from, or under what conditions it was "manufactured". And the people selling them? Same thing...as long as they are cute and tiny and someone is willing to pay whatever the asking price is for that cuteness, they are thrilled...they could care less...and people that have the money, will pay whatever they want to...just like they do for cars, jewelry, furs, furniture, horses, homes, nannies, yardmen, etc....

Uh not quite.
I made that mistake, once withbut severe consequennces and oncethe without, abd well may again...my geographic location inhibits quite a bit of purchase choice in some areas.

Mayne some can't afford to travel with their entire family to a breeders home so I think its quite the opposite.

In fact its cheaper to have a dog flown across the country than drive a few hundred miles...


The 8kright part yeah most likely...but yorkies go in my economically depressed area for 3kthe now even in this economy...much of it is about the "jobes" and buyer misinformation

Oh my! They do look like mixes. I saw this one today Yorkies For Sale, Teacup Yorkies, Teacup yorkie puppies and am wondering where in the h@## do they get their pricing from? Some of these "Yorkies" are $5000 without a registration. The sad thing is that people are keeping them in business!

I would not buy one. If i can't see it I don't need it. For $3k you can go to almost anywhere in the country. Theres pups pet Quality out there in my area that are sired from National Champions = Conformance. Go for $1500k. You can get plane tickets go see and bring back. And you don't need to bring the entire family. But I still wouldn't do that. I don't need a Yorkie that bad I will rescue one first before I buy sight unseen. Just my personal opinion. PPl buy what they want. I don't let go of my $$ that easy

But its sadly true ppl here pay 3kto gor a purebred with no papers...or you tracel to buy.



We used to ship dogs of small breeds from So Cal up here where small breeds are desirable but used to ve a rarity not avalible...program lost funding and volunteers so many went across the boarder to OR to buy at the pet stores or down south to the Bay (SF)...

Although I still have a huge maybe selfish desire for a healthy pup from a good breeder I'll most likely only ad rescues in the future.

Still you can meet someone online from here or the AKC breeder reffereal. Get to know them get on a waiting list. Get copies of all the vet stuff and breeding online. The go get it. Or find someone thats a day drive. I mainly mean I woudn't buy from one of these online places that are brokers or puppy mills acting legit. Getting a pup for someone reputable may take a year or 2 just waiting. Just $8k is crazy. It would need to be the #1 Yorkie in the World pup....and that may only deem pet quality. . They don't all produce Champions but I would think of them as healthy. I tried to rescue and it didn't work. I still have some requirement. Just I would take anything before spending $8k. Thats alot to me for any Dog

Those little dogs look "off" - hardly resemble the hardy little terrier originally bred for killing rats and other small critters in the mills and farms of England. Don't even look like Yorkies except prick ears, some of the coloring. A fall from the bed or couch could likely be severely damaging to a dog that tiny, especially when it is older and more brittle - and perhaps living in the home of someone with a slab foundation.

I wonder what the average lifespan of "High End" Yorkies is? And would be interested to know the average vet bill of the owners of those poor little dogs. Bet the breeder wouldn't dare post that information and she must have a pretty good idea of both from the pile of complaints that no doubt rain in.

Wow! Those prices are outrageous! I agree they do not look like a Yorkie to me either.
