| That is sad but honestly I am glad the people surrendered him back to the rescue (like most require). To let a dog get into that condition is just a sign to me that not a lot thought went to them decision to adopt. I look forward to your posting that the puppy is healthy, happy and in his new forever home.

| More of the story. Some of you PMed me asking if one of my dogs had pups. NO way, mine are all pets. I rescued the parents from an elderly back yard breeder. The lady broke her hip and went in a nursing home. Her Daughter sold me the '[IBreeding Pair'[/I] (You all know I work with rescues and fosters.) The female was very preg. The vet thought we should let her whelp. (she did 2 days after I got her !) She had 4 pups( 2 girls and 2 boys). We think The Mama dog was about 5 or 6 years old and right at 7 pounds, the male was younger maybe 2 years old and tiny about 4 pounds and he was fat LOL. Other than being being very fat for such little Yorkies and needing dentals they were in good shape. After they were spayed and neutered we found good homes for the adults. Mama stayed with pups until they were 12 weeks old. Then We adopted the pups at 12 weeks the adoption fee was $500 and included micro chip and spay/or neuter at 6 mo.s. There is no doubt in my mind the dogs are purebred Yorkies, The parents were ( a breeding pair sigh.....) but we did not witness the breeding, so there was no way to honestly register the puppies. Anyway..... The people got back their money, that way they are more likely to bring the dog back to us. I just got him bathed and shaved down, he is very sweet. Off to the Vet at 2:30 for now we are calling him Karlin which is Galelic for Little Champ. To the ones who asked about shipping we can't afford to do that. I will try to post some pics of him later.

| So how old is the little guy now? This whole small dog fad just makes me sick. If I hear Animal Planet encourage people to buy a small dog one more time I may have to tell the grand kids we are not watching anymore. People who have never owned a dog suddenly think they can be dog owners because the dog is small and after all it will be cute to carry around! They have no idea that those cute little dogs they see on TV have had hours and hours of training and care so they look and act that way. Ignorance seems to be contagious these days. |

| I can't help but wonder what they thought the Yorkie would do about pottying if no one was willing to take him out? Did they expect him to use the 'big potty' same as themselves? Did they expect him to comb his own hair and shower regularly by himself? Or did they selfishly expect that no effort on their part was required...maybe because he was...a dog... Even little tiny dogs are still...well...dogs, and require care. Of course, that human must "care" to begin with, and continuing throughout his/her life or the baby ends up...like...this poor baby! I am so sorry the Karlin ended up with selfish people who just happened to produce correct answers to your questions...the ones that were designed to weed out people like...err...them.

| People see a beautiful, well mannered yorkie and think they are born that way. When they have to work on it, its too much for them. I see that on rehoming ads, we don't have time. Translates to: its bigger than I thought, it eats, poops and needs me. So sad. glad they brought him back.

| Up Date Up date on Karlin. I wanted to thank every one for the kind comments and caring hugs. Yes, he has tape worms, which is being treated. Other worms were negative. My vet said he is perfectly healthy. Weight 3 lbs 5 oz. Groomer shaved back and tummy but saved fur on face and legs. He looks weird but, cute. Sorry I still can't figure how to post pictures from my phone. He is sleeping on my lap, Aw.. Karlin you are going to make someone very, very happy.

| I can understand your frustration, but be thankful this family returned this lovely little boy and not in the best condition, but conditions that can be corrected. I'm sure you will find a loving home for little Karlin - love his name and can't wait to see pictures of him.

| I know you had to be very angry to see him in that condition. It's a good thing they brought him back to you. Better that than Craig's List. He's probably very happy to be back home again. He must have been miserable.
