Is it possile they are blue born yorkies? They are born more gray blue in color rather tha black and tan and they lose their hair and can have health problems related to the skin. You can do a search on here of lue or pups and read about it. It is a geneitic abnorality. Are they from the same breeder

Now that's a thought. I hope she can find out what is wrong with these babies.

They were pretty much all black when they were born. They are from the same breeder and litter. I checked with her a year or so ago and she said she hadn't had anyone else tell her about their pups having this. I just wonder why my dogs always have problems. We've had ones that had to take epilepsy med., one with addisons disease (gave them a pill a day and a shot a month), ones allergic to beef and have to have special food, one chewed up a towel and had to have surgery to remove it. So I have taken care of alot of situations with dogs, no wonder I don't have money to check this out further.

If you truly really cannot come up with the money to help your pups, the kindest thing to do might be to surrender them to a Yorkie Rescue, where they'll get the medical help they so obviously need. That's what I would have to do if faced with anything major that I could not afford. It would be very very hard, but I love my doggies and would not want them suffering just because I don't have the money to help them

I'm so sorry you and your pups are going through this

It does sound like youve been through alot with dogs I thnik taking the to a dermatologist is your best bet

My yorkie had bald issues since I got her. Same fakey itchy skin. They tried antibiotics for two months this antifungal meds, medicated shampoo, and nothing helps. First they thought fungus, then bacteria infection, and now possible yeast infection. So I took it upon myself to have her seen by a vet dermatalogist. Yes, its expensive, but I feel my baby has suffered too long. Plus she came from a puppy broker/puppy mill. She's been through hell and back. I'll be taking her in two weeks! Consider seeing a vet dermatologist. I understand about the college thing. I'm sending my daughter off for the first time this fall. The reason for me getting another furbaby!

so sorry your little ones have this going on, maybe posting pictures can help some ..what about trying for care credit, its a wonderful card with very
low interest. I would not let this continue as they could be in pain

Find a veterinarian teaching clinic. We have 2 within a 100 miles so you most likely will have one too somewhere close by. They really do not charge that much more than your regular vet. You save time and money because they only do test that are needed and will isolate the problem quickly. I also wonder why you took on 2 of them if you did not feel that you could afford to do what is needed in care when it came up because eventually something always comes up.

My first thoughts were blue born, since they do tend to lose their hair. My next thoughts were since you cannot afford (for the past 6 years) to get help for them you should probably surrender them to a yorkie rescue and let them get the care they need and deserve. If their skin is falling off and is sticky and stinky, then it sounds like they are miserable.

You may want to surrender them. If you have seen fleas, they could have allergies to flea bites. I would think that in 6 years time though, you would have been able to get at least one of them seen by a specialist - maybe the one that is in the worst condition and then work on getting the other one seen.

Well, I agree with this point. Is there a Veterinary School in your area? Or, perhaps a teaching Animal Hospital? Even if it's a drive away, it will be worth it. Maybe you should even consider another vet (I've gone through 2 already. The vet I have now is very experienced and cognizant of cost issues with respect to a pup's health.)

I don't think you should surrender your pups unless you are wholly unable to care for them and you've considered every possible option. However, you should start putting funds aside now so that your babies can get help as soon as possible.

I know you love them - which is why you're reaching out here. I completely understand your situation and will keep you in my thoughts and prayers.
