| ![]() Update on my baby; he popped his knee out of place but vet said it was back in and everything would be ok! He has to take anti-inflammatory medications for the next two weeks and rest, but he's going to make a full recovery! Thanks everyone!! (Scooby thanks you too!) ![]() ![]()

| ![]() I'd have dricen two hours rather than wait several days. I'd also find a new vet they should have at least worked you in the following day during normal business hours, that is horrinle service on their part. No pain meds that whole time, poor Scooby.

| ![]() As someone already stated Yorkies have a tendency to have a weakness of the knees called Luxating Patella (LP) It is not just an ordinary injury it is a genetic weakness. Your vet should check all his knees and make a diagnosis as to how severe the problem is. Many dogs need surgery in order to prevent further problems. As they age the problem can get worse as the connective tissue deteriorates. Please keep your little one from jumping off of furniture and other objects and get him checked by someone who has experience with this disorder. |

| ![]() did you look at the bottom of the paw? Some times a sticker or small rock or twigfets caught and they will limp. Just a thought

| ![]() All is well now! He had popped his knee out of place but our vet said he had popped it back in on his own and will be perfectly fine! He is on anti-inflammatory drugs for the next two weeks but already acting like himself! Thank you for all of the help! :-)

| ![]() Please read up on Luxating Patella. Knees do not just pop out on their own. It happens because the connective tissue is not holding the joint in place as it should. This is a genetic weakness in Yorkies and gets worse as they get older. There is a library here on YT that you can get more information from. I don't know how many Yokies your vet has treated but he should no be treating this so casually. There are several members here who have Yorkies with this condition. |

| ![]() I am guessing its LP. If it keeps popping out and causing him to limp he may need surgery. Also you need to get doggy stairs to keep him from jumping because that is not good for a dog with LP.
