As someone already stated Yorkies have a tendency to have a weakness of the knees called Luxating Patella (LP) It is not just an ordinary injury it is a genetic weakness. Your vet should check all his knees and make a diagnosis as to how severe the problem is. Many dogs need surgery in order to prevent further problems. As they age the problem can get worse as the connective tissue deteriorates. Please keep your little one from jumping off of furniture and other objects and get him checked by someone who has experience with this disorder.
