Senior Yorkie Talker | Ears? I keep reading how if you want your puppies ears to stand up when he's an adult you have to tape them while he's young for a few weeks? What's taping? Lol sorry for all my threads just a new Mom & trying to figure all this stuff out! Thanks in advance! Oh & he's 12 weeks old. One ear perks up and the other one is down just so you know...? Any tips or advice on this subject? |

| Someone will chime in on the taping part. But pups ears also go down because they are teething.

| Trimming the top 3rd or half of the ear of all hair is the first step. If after a few days that doesn't work then the taping helps. There are many videos on youtube that show different ways of doing this.

| my Trinket is only 10 weeks old. Her ears were down Saturday when I got her. I started massaging them that night and Sunday she had up ears. I continue to massage them. They have stayed up. Hope they do, but if not, it`s ok. Love her anyway. |

| Toki had one floppy ear for a while. The left would flop a couple days and then the flop would switch to the right lol. They eventually just stood up straight by themselves ( I didn't tape or massage or trim hairs) but I kinda miss the floppy ears that would stand up straight when she got excited or heard something! I like how the floppy ears look but did not want to have to deal with ear infections that floppy ear doggies tend to get (our beagle used to get them a lot) |

| I never did anything with Jackson's ears and they stood up naturally. Well actually, no, he went to the groomer where she shaved the tips and then they started standing. But they were hhuuuugeee, I never thought they'd stand on their own, LoL... Up, up, and away....

| Someone posted a video a while back that showed how to tape the ears. Maybe you can do a search? Or check youtube. |
