| Storm First off I hope everyone who was hit with the bad storm Friday night/Saturday morning is doing ok. We lost power from about 11pm to around 3am so it wasn't that bad still a bit hot but we did not have Tv, Internet, or Phone until an hour ago. We got some bad damage around here I think maybe even worse then when the hurricane came through last year. My house is fine other then a few huge limbs and leaves and our patio chairs flipped over and moved around one even folded its self up but one neighbor did have a tree go through there bedroom then a town right next to use had many many electric poles down. Callie did great. When we heard the wind start we got into the hallway and she was very happy to lay and sit in the hallway (that's where she always goes when it storms). Ever sense a she had a summer that she wore the thunder shirt every time it stormed she does not shake, pant or pace now when it storms and I don't put it on her much anymore sense she does so well now but one thing she did made me feel so sad and like I wish I could explain the storm to her. When we had a huge roll of thunder she laid down and rolled over on her back like ok I give up storm you can stop now.

That damage I saw on the news in your area & others from that storm was unreal! Looked like a tornado had struck some places. And to think of those that didn't get actual damage sitting in the heat without even a room fan to cool them is heartbreaking. Think of the children, dogs & old people & those really ill right now! Must be terrible. Glad to hear Callie did well during all the sounds & pressure changes, lightening & wind. That's a big step to have her handle it so well now if she had to wear a thunder shirt before! She learned how to deal with it I guess & realizes it won't hurt her, it's just loud & there are changes in lighting that are freaky. I hear those things can be absolute miracle-workers for some dogs! I'll bet it's good to have TV & music, etc. on again, but especially the A-C. If we ever had a power outage of any length in the summer in Texas, Tibbe & I would have to go to a hotel that had a generator or drive to one where power was on and they would have to take dogs! I couldn't tolerate trying to sleep in 88 degree weather at night! Worse, over 100 in the daytime with no moving air of any kind. Glad you all are seemingly back on track & you all weren't hurt in the storm.

| Glad that your family is ok. It went through here and thousands are without power, water, internet and phones. The power company says it will be around the 7th of this month before power is restored. Another storm is coming in from Chicago and I pray that it doesn't hit us again. I live in the tri-state area of WV, OH and KY. and it is terrible for so many.

| They say the storm that happened was rare I forgot the name of it but it was certainly scary and bad. I could go forever with out anymore storms. One of the reasons I hate summer so much is the storms.

| We've got storms in GA and SC tonight-Lost power for a few minutes only, but the thundering has been insane, and the lightening impressive. I heard that Toledo, OH had hail from the storms. Hope everyone stays safe. |

Zachary's Mom Donating Member | The last hurricane I went through was Ike. No power for 3 weeks, hot, humid Houston. AND I had just had major abdominal surgery. Rita was before that and I drove straight for 27 hours to evacuate. My husband is blind and does not drive. Four dogs, two cat in a single cab pickup, couldn't run the a/c because I could not find gas. I really feel for everyone affected by these storms. It is horrible. And not knowing if you will even have a home to come back to.........horrible, horrible. Louise |

| We went through Andrew and I think Ivan, both while visiting family-they evacuated the town we were staying in, and we ended up driving home early. That was 20 years ago and I still remember it vividly. The second one was in Long Island, and we had no power for 3 out of the 7 days we were there. In Toledo, we used to get tornadoes a few times a summer, usually. |

| Yes it's BAD in this area. Still over 100,000 w/o power. Stop lights are out, gas was gone. People acting like maniacs! Cussing at each other at the gas station, honking at each other at the intersections. It was a mad house out there yesterday. I'm like... people... we've only been out of power for like 15 hours! Imagine if we ever had a catosphre... people would be killing each other! It's madness. Our house still has no power but I'm dogsitting all weekend and am one of the only sections around here that does have power - wooo! Lol. Jackson did surprisingly well too. A few loud booms made him shake for about 5 minutes but then he curled up on the couch with me and the other dog. *I* was scared though! All by myself and the lights flickering. I was so worried the power was going to go out. Lightening was terrible too.

| I just got off the phone with our friend in Gaithersburg and she is fine...no power for about 6 hours but then it was back and has stayed on. She said the damage just a few miles from her home is bad though. |

| We had what is called a derecho it's a straight line windstorm that occurs mostly in summer. It's a weather phenomenom. While I didn't love the storm I do love learning about them. Our power was out from 11pm on Friday to 1pm today It was 100 degrees all weekend thank goodness my in-laws live close and they had power. I am glad everyone was safe with the exception of this heat!
