| Pheno and Frontline Plus issues>? Anyone else have experience with a dog taking Pheno no longer effectively being able to use topical flea control? Elvis since taking Pheno seems to be the only one Frontline Plus doesn't work for. I end up using either Neem oil or DE shampoo every three days to keep him flea free, but when we've gone a week, he'll come back from the yard with fleas again & they don't die after biting-neighbors don't flea treat their "outside dog". So far it's been manageable but parasites freak me out seeing one sends me into WWIII against creepy crawlies. It's semi frustrating you can only use a few oral or topical monthly treatments on epileptics dog and I'm concerned sine only his dosage of pheno has been the variable that's the cause. Vet says it shouldn't be an issue-but I'm seeing it actually appears to be.

| My Becca was on both Phenobarbital and Frontline for several years with no problems. The Frontline continued to work fine for her. Have you tried any other flea/tick preventers? Maybe Elvis has just developed an immunity or resistance to it?

| Frontline Frontline is no longer effective for mine. They changed the formula about a year or so ago (when it disappeared from the market for 6 months) and now it just doesnt work. That may be your problem and not the phen

I buy a year's supply at a time, so I hadn't gotten any until a few months ago. It just seems to be working fine on the other two dogs so I was thinking it might be the pheno change. I haven't tried anything else as the other flea meds epileptic dogs can take are oral. I'm really concerned about anything I use on Elvis and am very hesitant to 'try new things' on him because we have been in a situation of his seizures being uncontrolled and the medication not stabilizing them for so long we had to control everything with him keeping it all very consistent.

As I said I'm really uneasy about trying new things on him, I've heard they can get immune or more appropriately the local flea population because the dog's body processes it more flushing it more. My Scoobers has taken it for over 4 years and Elvis only 2 it is still working for Scoobers though.

| A vet tech told me that Frontline Plus didn't work as well if the dogs skin is dry. I hope you figure out what is going on, fleas can be such a nuisance.

| OMG fleas are so horrible this year! Frontline quit working on both of my girls and they aren't on any meds. I hope you can figure out something that works for your baby! Treating the yard would be a good idea I've had to do it THREE times this spring before I finally (please God!!!) killed them all. Had to spray the house and wash everything too, it's a major pain in the butt but anything for my kiddos. They are both allergic to the flea saliva, so just one will set off itching marathons Good luck!!!!

| Princess is severely allergic to fleas. So is Derik the skin man here lol but man we walk to the park and Elvis is covered. We DE our yard regularly due to the neighbors dog plus night critter visitors that bring them. Apparenly fleas just prefer white dogs Ive heard but frontline plus used to work better the alternative we are using works its just constant application or its an issue. Im just so paracite phobic too. Mayne it is time to try the pills.
