Yes my hard is fenced, but it doesn't mean things cant crawl under or over- and a fence does not protect against things with wings!

Callie is to big for owls and nothing can crawl under our fence. It bothers me you think I would put my dog in danger because I never ever would. This was the first time in 5 years and obviously I will be taken more precautions now but just because I don't put my dog on a leash in our fenced yard that has been made safe in almost any way possible doesn't mean I don't love her and am not a good owner.

I'm just going on what you said- I would NEVER let Pnut out in the dark to potty. Take 5 mins to put a leash/harness on isn't a big deal to me.. knowing Pnut will be safe is worth the 5 mins...
You cant assume nothing is out there, no matter how big Callie is you are risking a fight with something that can possibly win.

I don't really think I'm being negative- just being blunt. Not really a sugar coat kinda gal, I say how it is- and I think Callie should be on a leash at night.

Well I'm just saying , maybe nobody else had the guts to point out the obvious.. hearing this I would sure hope you put her on a leash- if there was one I'm sure you have more, I don't work for Jeff Corwin but I'm sure you have lots of critters you don't see!

Or people leave the obvious for the person and know I am smart enough to figure that out and would never put Callie in danger. There was no need for you treating me like an idiot!

Well, I'm glad your girl didn't decided to play with the opossum. They can look scary but they really are not aggressive. They usually get the worst end of any encounters with dogs.
That's why I never let Gracie out with out a leash. We have too many critters around that she would love to check out!

We started putting Georgie on a leash when we let him out. I saw an opossum for the first time a couple of weeks ago.

Really lets all pick on me ok that's nice. I would never post something nasty or mean to either of you if your dog almost got attacked by a opossum.
