That is frightening! I had the same situation with my little Muffin many years ago. Scared me to death. I'll tell you something about those animals that you might not know is that they frequently return to their same haunts, so you want to be very careful.

I know this might sound terrible but I honestly thought about buying a shot gun and having some one teach me how to shot. Is that terrible? I just wanna keep Callie safe.

Honestly I know nothing about guns that's why I would have to take a class and talk to someone about it and do some more research.

Hm I would just stick to what you know and maybe add a leash on her potty breaks so you wont have to do anything crazy! They do let anyone buy a shotgun, but that doesn't mean everyone deserves one... Get where I am going with this??

I wouldn't go freak out and buy a gun just because you saw a possum. I see and hear a lot of things in our backyard... it's just part of nature, and it happens...

It was only a thought but I am not a complete moron who would go buy a gun and just shoot.

I just don't know what would have happened if he attacked her I probably would have gotten hurt saving her but it was more of a joke then anything.

Didn't know we had opossums never had a problem with any other animals other then deer sense we have had Callie or really anytime before that. Our yard is fenced. I am allergic to mosquitoes so it really sucks for me to go outside in the warm months obviously if I knew we had an animal problem and had to take her out I would have.

Well I know I have critters in my backyard- I don't have to seem them to know that! At night ( before Dh built me his kennel) Pnut was always on a leash. Dog 101

I don't think that is necessarily dog 101 I grew up with dogs and a fenced in yard and they were always allowed out into the fenced yard. Shes not very tiny and the deck and sheds had chicken wire put around them so that she could not get under them and my yard has always been safe. And your yard is fenced?
