| HI! My boys swim soooo well! We have a pool and in the summer they live in it! When they were like 9 months old I brought them kayaking for a 3 day weekend. I got lifejackets for them and it made MY life easier too. When they did swim I knew they were ok, and when I had to carry them the jackets had handles. When I had to lift them back into the kayak it was easier with those handles. Life jackets, just like for kids, give you peace of mind. I am a big advocate of them. I still use them on my boys when they keep going in the pool and it's been 6+ hours and I know they are tired. I put them on them just to be safe. (they NEVER are around the pool unsupervised though). I'd get life jackets if I were you though, you won't regret it, you'll have them for years just in case and you'll have good peace of mind if they have them on. Have fun!!!

| I also agree get the life jacket for your little guy. Sophie Kate has a fabulous little pink one she wears and it makes the whole experience more enjoyable for me not to worry about her.

You'll definitely need doggie sunscreen, a gulpy water bottle (or the like), and if you think a life jacket is necessary. Avery got totally annoyed with his, it kind of restricted his movement, but other dogs just ignore them. You'll have a wonderful time and so will your pup!

Katie Scarlett's Mommy Donating Member | How fun! We have let Katie Scarlett swim once and she was a natural. We want to get into canoeing too, but I will for sure get her a life jacket. I know she can swim, but I would hate for something to happen and she be in the water and get tired and unable to swim any farther. Y'all have a wonderful time!

| I believe a life jacket is in order for any dog out on a lake. If your dog can swim a ways and your not far from the shore no big deal but if there were a fire or an accident out further on a lake you would want you little one ready to be able to fend for him or herself out in the deep water. Hope everyone is safe and had a great time! |
