| This is exactly what Lily does. When she sees me lift her harness or lead she runs and hides behind the chair it curtain. She won't step over the door I have to lift her out. She also lifts one paw and shakes. And she won't walk if I put clothes on her to try to keep her dry so I can't win. If she finds a dry spot she try's to fit all her little paws on it. Lol

| Must be a yorkie thing... Corky will not potty after it rains or in a light rain. So my daughter will run with him and she says it helps. |

| Maybe if you make it a happy special thing on rainy days it would work. I used to save a special treat for Crystal when I left since I knew it was hard for her. It got to the point where she just couldn't wait to see me leave Hard on my ego but it worked. hahaha. Cheese a tiny piece of cheese works for almost anything. and I wouldn't give it to her until the end of the walk. She can see it and her mind will be on that until you are back. Don't make it too long a walk. My friends have a dog I take care of now and then and she was so frightened of thunder and lightening. I played the radio and sang, ignored it and did the thing with cheese and then later no cheese until now, she still doesn't like it and jumps on my lap but no shivering or crying and I tell her what a big girl she is.

| Georgie doesn't go out in the rain either. Our Boxer Coco will only go out if she absolutely has to.

| They are 'unique' for sure. They have their own personalities, dislikes, fetishes, fears, and desires, and sometimes their 'rebellious' mode is cute...for a little while, anyway...lol My Yorkie-Poo of long ago...the little heartbeat that inspired my Yorkie love from childhood on throughout my life...would literally "snub" me when I violated his desires too much...nose in the air, head up and tilted off to the side away from me, eyes squinty peeking down out of them at me...it was soooo funny and made me laugh...and he would snub me more...for a little while anyway then he was Mommy's baby boy again! So, I do not know what to suggest except maybe if you hang something that Bella loves...or that smells really yummy to her from your belt or arm or attach higher on her lead than she can quite reach, maybe she'd be willing to follow...but I dunno if she'd be so easily 'fooled'...lol She's obviously got her 'druthers' and she's not subtle about druthering not walk in that darling photo of her...lol Mia will walk out into wet grass, but was not wanting to be out in the rain. Brody, I, more often than not, have to carry outside and set him down in wet grass (oh, and he directs me to THE location he is willing to land on...lol), and more often than not must go fetch him off the porch and do it over 'cuz he'll run straight away back to the house if I put him where he doesn't want to be...lol When it was raining and they had to go out...we do have p-pads down as a backup for them but they rarely use them...I would carry each...1 at a time...and carry them outside under an umbrella and keep it over them so they could do their bit while I stood around getting wet in the rain...and they would 'freak' about the umbrella while I was carrying them under it. I finally found raincoats that I like that fit them...they are sooooo cute, the raincoats...and then a few weeks later, it finally rained. I reminded DH about the raincoats and he put them on Brody and Mia to take them out when he got home from work 'cuz it was still raining some, and he said they both walked out and trotted around the yard quite proud of themselves in the rain in their new duds...then would not allow us to remove the raincoats for several hours. He tried to remove the raincoats when they got back in the house and they physically blocked him from doing it with their heads and paws and then would run away from him...lol I finally removed the raincoats 3-4 hours later, and they weren't all that happy about it then. Very unique, these babies...and only part of why we love them sooooooo much!

| You must understand: Yorkies are made of sugar and they know it! They are afraid that what usually happens to sugar will happen to them if they get wet!

| Callie does not like the rain either but I make her go out if she is very adamant against it I put her rain coat on her and make her stay out until she goes. Normally though she has learned now to run to her potty spot and run back. The only time she would really poo in the rain is when she was recovering from LP surgery and I was taking her out on the leash and staying until she pooed normally she holds her poo until the rain is gone it cant be comfy and its not fun because she gets gassy but she will not do it in the house. I would just put a rain coat on her and yourself and walk her around maybe use treats to get her to walk and make sure you praise her.

| I had the same problem with Brandi.....she hates going to potty outside after it has rain or snowed. She would just stand outside shaking, giving me the most pitiful look you ever seen. That's when I decided to trained her to use potty pads. Now I have the best of both worlds. In nice weather Brandi goes outside to potty and in bad weather and at nights, she uses her potty pads. The pic is funny and thats what Brandi does when she doesn't want to go home during our walks. When we get close to the house, she just stops and all my neighhbhors just start laughing. We go through this almost every time we go for a walk in nice weather. |
