| Just a FYI on a recall on food Hey my Yorkietalk friends! I just wanted to make sure everyone knew about the recall on Taste of the Wild food. Just go to their website and you can find out the exact production code #'s that are being recalled due to a threat of salmonella. The date it was announced was on May 4th... and I checked yesterday and my little Ollie had the "batch" they were recalling. Just wanted to give everyone a heads up!

| Sorry... I've obviously been off of here too long not to see that everyone is aware of it. Didn't mean to send off a repeated post. Love you all

| I just found this out today when I went to the pet store to buy a bag and they pulled it off their shelves. I was freaking out! I have NO Idea if my boys ate a bad batch. The last bag I bought was 2 months ago. I put it into a tupperware container and threw away the bag! They have not been sick though. I am going to throw away the tiny bit thats left bc I can't feed it to them knowing it COULD be contaminated. ugh What are people buying in the meantime until the new batch comes out? The sales woman recommended Merrick. She said it was comparable to TOTW in protein content and it's grain free also. The only thing is I can't transition them. They are just going to have to go cold turkey to Merrick for a short time. I hope we don't have to deal with diarrhea for a week! uugghhh

| I used Instinct for a while. But I had major issues with Rosie's eyes while on it if I remember correctly. I think she had more runny eyes and also the goop that forms. Other than that, she did fine on it.

| We have been using the Nature's Variety Instinct for a few months. I use the kibble and the canned. Lexi is okay with it, but she occasionally gets a bit picky about what she is eating. A YT member suggested I use some Weruva mixed in with the NV. It seems to be doing the trick. Sometimes I add a bit of scrambled egg too. I tried about 20 different brands and was going crazy. My vet suggested I pick a food I think is a good food and stick with it. From my research, NV seems to be a pretty good company. So for now it is working and Lexi is okay with it. I have thought about Fromm also, but not quite ready to switch yet. |

| I agree I am never going back to a Diamond product. Other companies may have quality and recall issues but none are ever as massive as Diamond. Remember a few years ago Diamond had issues. I switched Khloe cold turkey to merrick's puppy plate. My groomer is on vacation so I had to drive to get find it. Kirby did the adult formulas some years ago without issue. I hope Khloe won't have any either. I have mixing in boiled chicken breast. |

Also, when Petcurean was making foods in their plant back in 2003, they killed a bunch of dogs. Comparable in price and ingredients, I'd say check out Earthborn, or Nutrisource/Pure Vita, or Precise.

| I just switched my dogs to Fromm and so far so good. I switch my dogs' food often so we usually don't have any issues switching cold turkey. The store I buy from highly recommends Fromm and had been trying to get me to switch for awhile anyway. I finally made up my mind to switch and I'm glad I did now.

| Thanks for the heads up! It's hard to keep track of all the recalls lately...
