| Gonna move back! Get another dog? Lola, Sammy, the DH, and I are all from the same small city in California and we've made the decision to move back! We're saving up for a house right now and we cant wait to be back home! The only problem I have right now is that Sammy, Lola's "big brother", is 12 this year. I just lost my Pit Bull a few days ago to old age and cancer, and I'm concerned about Sammy and his age. He's a Chow/Lab mix, and is very much Lola's guard dog LOL. I'm talking to my husband about getting another dog when we have a house, though I don't think he would do well with Pit Bulls since he never dealt with dogs until he moved in with me. You guys make kick me for this but I love my "bully" breeds just a little bit more than yorkies. Which is a LOT by the way I LOVE LOVE LOVE yorkies. I think it'll be good to have a guard type dog around with my little one. What do you guys suggest?

| How exciting! Glad to hear you are moving back to Cali!! I am sorry for your recent loss... I know how hard it is to loose a loved one ((hugs)) to you! I think in general no matter the breed you have to be careful when mixing a large breed with a small breed! I am sure you know how to handle a large breed with a small breed since you have a Chow/Lab mix and also had a Pitt. Maybe you should research some breeds and see what you like in the personalities? I have always loved Boxers- My brother has a boxer Leo, he gets a long great with Peanut!!

| I think it's a personal decision. I honestly couldn't handle the stress of owning a large dog with yorkies, but if you think it's something you could... Go for it.

YT 2000 Club Donating Member | Oh dear what to say. I own and love my big dogs. IN fact as much as I love my Yorkie. They are each special to me in their own ways. But I don't think about my big ones defending per say my Yorkie. Actually my Yorkie would tell you he needs no defending thank you very much! How-ever I do know when I walk the little one with my big boy, I truly don' worry about coyotes coming up to us.

| Thank you lol. Lola had sammy wrapped around her tiny paws from day 1. I feel that as long as they are raised from a young age to interact properly and safely, there are no animals that cant get along. My sammy is even friends with my rats, he just knows how big he is and how to behave
