| ![]() She sounds like a typical puppy. You are lucky she lets you sleep in until 7:30! lol. Mine are awake by 5 or 6 and ready to eat. She will calm as she ages, and I think a friend might help.

| ![]() Bella will be 2 next month and I thought she would never calm down. Walking her and playing for hours fetching did nothing to play her out. We found she was obsessive with her game of fetch so we stopped doing it on a scheduled time as she was smart enough to know that right after she ate in the morning was when we would play nonstop fetch for her. Now we still do it but not every day and not at the same time. She still goes for her walks every day. It is amazing the change in her in the last 3 weeks. It is like she grew up over night. Now she is happy laying beside me on the sofa, takes her naps in the afternoon and now has decided she would rather sleep in her crate rather than with me in bed. I do miss the bed part....but I am getting more rest...I have also left her for up to 2.5 hours in the house alone and no messes when I come home. She seems to really like her crate more now and when I come back she is usually laying on her pillow napping or sometimes on the sofa.....I never thought she was going to grow up and now that she is I am missing the puppy stage.....just a little...lol. I was wondering at what age your pups matured ...was it around 2 |

| ![]() Zoey was the same. I couldn't even use the computer - she sat and barked at me. I would stop and go outside and play ball. Finally, at 10 months old I found her a recuse maltese boy. He was about 1 1/2 years old and they get along great. It really helped and I didn't feel guilty when leaving her home alone. She is definitely the boss around here and he is just happy to have a nice home and a doggie friend.

| ![]() Roxy is my wild child yorkie. She is go-go-go all day. She goes for 5 mile walks with Buddy the golden. Then will come home and play fetch for an hour. Sometimes with Buddy sometimes not. If she is playing fetch with Buddy she will chase after the ball with him- Get to the ball before him and then bark til he picks it up and run after him back to me. Each throw comes an acre of land. If you don't play with her she will throw her toy down the stairs and then chase it. She is a high energy-ADHD yorkie. She will roughy house with her mother and younger sister both bigger than her- She wears the other Yorkies out. She will also play torture the cats- Sneaks up on then and jumps, pull/nips their tails, bark til they run then chase, etc. She is only 4 pounds and both cats are over 15 pounds so can't harm them. She will also bring her toys to you, drop them on your lap, the run to the other side of the room and bark at you to throw it. Spaying did not slow her down for even a full day. I picked her up at 3:30 in the afternoon, at 9pm she was looking to play, and she escaped her playpen by 9 am the next morning. Needless to say she did not stay quiet for the 2 weeks as recommended.

I am guilty of always looking for the future and wanting more out of my little guy. First, it was the potty training and now I am hoping he will calm down and learn more obedience. In the grand scheme of things, I need to just appreciate how he is now and know that my efforts (and maturity) will eventually create change. He is a great little guy and I love him to death but you reminded me to enjoy him as he is. Thanks!! ![]()
