| hyper all the time... Hi my lil one is 6 months old, shes been a little ball of energy since i first got her,i love her to death , but she keeps on growing and growing and as she gets bigger she gets more energetic, i'd say shes about 7 lbs now... she now goes for 2 walks a day.. which tire me out! lol i throw a ball for fetch for an hour down a long hall the length of the house and i play about an hour of tug-a-war with her too, and she still dosen't seem to get tired. I heard getting spayed might make them less hyper, but will age make her less hyper?... its just hard when some days i don't have time to take her for her 2nd walk or something..if she dosen't get her 2 walks, fetch and tugawar, she won't sleep til about 2am and no she dosen't sleep much during the day, she sometimes just relaxes on the pillow by the stairs..or maybe a little 30 min nap around supper time...and shes awake around 7:30 am every morning!! i was thinking maybe a brother or sister yorkie for her might help?..i know shes still a puppy.. but was just looking for others to share thier stories..if your puppy was hyper then mellowed out as they got older? ..after they got spayed? or if getting them a playmate helped? |

| Shes just a pup still so she has puppy energy. I would get her spayed though and shes coming up on that age but I don't know that, that will make her have less energy. I think shes just being a pup.

| I have the same situation going on here. Scarlett is FULL of energy...she plays and plays, lots of fetch and tug-of-war going on here. She is smart and lively and I love it! We have a 12 year old Golden here that she wrestles with, and that does help some. She will be spayed within the next couple of months, she is 6 months old now. I would LOVE to get her a sister but there aren't many yorkies where I live, we will see what happens....

Max Main's Mamma Donating YT Member | I know how you feel. Max is very hyper as well and requires a lot of exercise right now. I have noticed that he gets tuckered out when I add an activity that is not on the normal schedule (e.g. trip to the pet store, pet park, bath, etc.). If it is feasible to get another pet then that may help; however, if you are feeling frustrated by one, you may be in for double the trouble!! LOL!!! I have big dogs and we have "play time" in our office. I get to play on yorkie talk and Max gets out some energy. You are a dedicated and good mommy for going the extra mile for your furbaby. Give it some time and I'm sure she will chill out. Do you give her Bully Sticks?

| yes i give her bully sticks, she gets bored after a bit though, and i am constantly trying to find things to entertain her, she gets new toys every week lol and i get creative by tying shoelaces to things and tying toys together, i dig through my closet find her scarves and things to play with..i'm not frustrated with her, i just feel bad because i know she gets so bored sometimes, she has more energy than she knows what to do with.. maybe getting her a sister or brother if she dosen't mellow out by age 1 might be a good idea..because shes tiring me out! LOL.. she gets so much exercise so i don't know where she finds all the energy |

| I was told with my beagle that with age he would get calmer... he is 13 now and still as hyper as ever... even our vet is amazed by his energy. Its a case by case basis... I mean 7 months is still really young so you never know.

Katie Scarlett's Mommy Donating Member | Yep gotta love this puppy time! I have noticed that our Katie Scarlett is not quite as wild since her spay but she definitely still loves to be mischievous!

| My dog trainer reacons too much protein in their diet makes them hyper she advises a change of diet to 18% for an adult dog 28 for a puppy. I dont know if this is right cause in the wilf they would eat all protein surely. Anyway she said shehas dealt with dogs with behavioural issues anf she finds a change of diet works wonders.

| My dad's little dog is 4 years old and is still hyper as ever. When you were talking about her hyper runs it made me think of him he will run that same path around the table into the living room and jump on the couch. He does this at full speed about 20 times in a row crack me up every time
