| I would not give her Rawhide- I learned my 300$ lesson with Pnut! The major threat with a rawhide bone is that a dog will break off a large piece of the bone and swallow it. This creates a choking hazard but that isn't the only problem with a rawhide bone. A huge chunk of rawhide will sit in a dogs intestines until it is passed (body does not break it down). If it is to large the dog cannot pass it out and sometimes sharp edges can damage the intestines themselves.

| Just be sure and watch her with that bone!!! When she gets the part she is chewing on, all soft and gooey, take your scissors and cut that soft part off, so that she is back to chewing on hard rawhide again....and when you are leaving the room or you are no longer watching her, take the bone away from her.....if she swallows a part of that, it can sit in her stomach or go down into her intestine and cause a blockage. |

| she is such a cutie. you may want to try oderless bully sticks. it gives them the same chewing pleasure but is more digestable and better for them. you still want to watch closely...when they get it super soft as stated above you want to cut that off and when it gets close to the end you want to discard to avoid choking. congrats on your new beautiful baby she is just so darn cute. =*(())

| That is an adorable picture and a darling puppy. As has already been mentioned rawhide can be quite a danger to your baby. It cannot be digested and many times what they swallow will sit in the stomach and cause gastric problems. The round ends can also be choking hazards. I know it is a very common item to be found in department stores and pet stores but most vets will tell you they have been known to cause many health problems and even death. The pet food and treat industry is not regulated in any way so they continue to sell these dangerous items to the public. There are various all natural items available for your pet to chew that are safe but you should always be near to observe when you pet is chewing any object. Your puppy is so sweet. I'll bet you get much joy from that little beauty. |
