That is an adorable picture and a darling puppy. As has already been mentioned rawhide can be quite a danger to your baby. It cannot be digested and many times what they swallow will sit in the stomach and cause gastric problems. The round ends can also be choking hazards. I know it is a very common item to be found in department stores and pet stores but most vets will tell you they have been known to cause many health problems and even death. The pet food and treat industry is not regulated in any way so they continue to sell these dangerous items to the public.
There are various all natural items available for your pet to chew that are safe but you should always be near to observe when you pet is chewing any object.
