| thin and silky puppy coat Khloe's coat is thin and silky. I can't seem to put a bow in that will stay. Her hair on her head is silky, thin and now gray. She just came back for her first groomer's visit. I know this is her puppy coat but can anyone please simplify what the adult coat should look like. I have been trying to read up and research but I am confused. What can I do for little slick back head Khloe? Is something wrong with her hair? |

| Silky is the prefered yorkie coatand it is thiner than a cotton coat. Are you putting in a groom Band in Before you put the Bow Band? You can kind of intertwine them

| Don't put conditioner on top of her head. If you use a latex band, be extremely careful that you don't get it too close to her head or she will lose her hair and it doesn't grow back. Right now you could probably get by with a tiny baby barrett.

| I have always used the little bands for skin babies on mine. Not sure if they are latex lol but never had a problem keeping them in or with them losing their hair from them

| Yes, you really need to use grooming bands to gather the fur in before placing the bow. This is what I use because they cause less damage to the hair. Amazon.com: Latex Free Dog Grooming Bands by... They come in different sizes but the smaller size will work well with puppy fur. Also snip the band out very carefully and don't try to pull it out. They make a special tool to do this. toplinepet.com This link will show you the tool for cutting out the bands and some other grooming products. How To Put In Dog Bows : Dog Bows, Quality Dog Bows - Yorkie, Maltese, Shih Tzu - by BowBiz This link has photos and a video to help with how to place a bow. Of course with a puppy you may have to simplify until more hair grows. Start with little bows at first. Distract her from trying to take it out. It all takes time, practice, and consistent training. Best wishes. |
