Yorkie Talker | Hello! Hey guys! I'm new to yorkie talk as of today. I wasnt quit sure how to make a post to introduce myself so I hope this is the corect way. My name is shelby scott. I currently have my first yorkie, a little boy by the name of Milo. He was born on November 20th and came into my life as a valentines present! I love animals very much. I live on a farm and currently have five dogs although Milo is my little baby. I did not get him for purposes of showing or breeding but just for love. I did have a question, if anyone can help me out.Milo's ears do not yet stand on their own, and i was wondering if they are supposed to? Someone had told me that yorkie's ears should stand straight up, is this true? Let me know what you think. I look forward to getting to know everyone and will post pictures soon! |

| Not all yorkies ears stand but the standard does call for it. Some people if there yorkies ears are not standing will tape them to stand but I forgot after what age that doesn't work anymore. My yorkies ears do not stand they are floppy and I love it. Welcome to YorkieTalk!

| Hi Shelby and welcome to Yorkie Talk! It's true that most yorkies ears do go up but some never do or only partially to up. They look cute though either way! If you keep the top third of the ear tip shaved often times this makes them lighter so that the ears will come up easier. Some people also tape the ears up until they're strong enough to stay up on their own. I'll look forward to see pictures of your new baby boy Milo. I'm sure he's adorable! |
