| Yeah true buying a dog isn't saving a dog. I always wonder why it is rescues want to send someone to inspect your home but have yet to have a breeder ever ask for anything other than pics of my home-just throwing that out there.

| She has invited me to her home. I am aware of several puppy mills in the lancaster area. This puppy is in Wildomar about 2 hours from me so I would have to make the drive to go see her. I appreciate all of the comments and advice |

How can the pups be healthy in those conditions? Arent they exposed to Parvo etc in places like that??![]() I´ve always made sure I can visit the breeder before I decide on buying a puppy...and not only once either,I have always visited my pups numerous times before I bring them home (I would NEVER buy a puppy I wasnt allowed to visit a few times before hand). I´ve also been sent pictures on a regular basis and info on how they´re doing via e-mail etc.I also like to be around the mother as well as the puppies..I like to see her temperament and in what conditions she´s in etc. All of this is very important to me because I like to know exactly where my puppy has been, how healthy the parents are and how it´s been treated before it comes home to me. Its very sad that people are able to abuse animals like that to make "easy" money The poor things...

| Yes she is really cute. Can you go to the home and see the parents? Does the owner have vet records to show the parents and the pup have no health issues? I personally would be concerned more with those things than the price. |

| Some puppy millers will bring a few dogs and puppies to a house for you to check out. They don't want to let you see their operation. Of course there are a lot of back yard breeders that have a pet quality dog that they have bred with a neighbor or friend's dog. You are not going to get a good representative of the breed buying from these people. If you want a dog that looks like a Yorkie buy from a reputable breeder and not someone who is using the dogs to make some money. Some back yard breeders increase their operation when they find they can make some money with the dogs. Personally I think it is wrong to support such people. They are doing a disservice to the breed and ripping people off at the same time. Some people love their little dog anyway but others end up selling to someone else or sending it to the pound. Even worse is when those puppies are themselves used for breeding. Save your money and buy from someone who knows what they are doing. |
