I let the hair grow out in the winter but this time of year I cut them very short as they play outside alot And go on camping trips with us. It is much eaiser to keep them clean. I love the long hair though and have much more time in the winter months to keep them combed. Luckly their hair grows fast so i get the best of both. You will figure out what works best with your life style as she grows. Again she is adorable

I might try the longer coat this winter as it gets pretty chilli up here during the winter months. It's so true their hair grows quick! I just can't get over how adorable all these long haired Yorkies are on this forum!

| If Sophie grows up to look half as cute as the furbaby in your avatar picture we are in trouble! I just can't get over how adorable Yorkies look when they get there adult colouring and their hair grows out. I wonder if Sophie face will be that caramel/tan colour? I think the breeder said she'll be steel blue and tan but all I see is white on her head with only streak of tan around her mouth. It will be interesting to see her coat changes in the next few months. |

I'm not trying to put clothes or other stuff on her so hopefully she will humour me one of these days and keep something on her head long enough for me to at least snap a picture!

| Hi, and congratulations on getting your first pet, especially since that first pet is a Yorkie! I wouldn't worry too much about Sophie not wanting clothes yet. Mine either had never or didn't supposedly like to wear clothes until one day when they just went nuts over their new clothes Mommy bought, and they have worn clothes (when accompanied by a human) ever since and 'complain' to Daddy if Mommy chooses the other kid to get dressed up first. lol Quote:
...but in my case, they mostly seem to want us to please them! lol I agree...they are sensitive souls, human-like (and cat-like) in my case...and can/will give me 'signals' which can be very subtle at first for what they want and/or need, so I have to watch closely with the same discerning, analytical, 'suspicious' eye I used for my human children. lol You are in for a glorious experience...these little ones are the greatest!
