| Yes it would but for some dogs that is the best thing to do. Especially when the owner doesn't know how to whelp and stuff.

| Yes, that would kill the puppies. I recommend you at least spay her after her litter... She is not to standard, and should not be breed.

It sounds like you are taking very good care of your baby girl and making sure that you have the knowledge that you need as well as physical help from a mentor. The very best of luck to you. Please keep us informed as to how things are going. | |

| I may not say this right but in reference to meeting the "standard". The AKC states that a yorkie standard (what you will see in the ring) is not to exceed 7lbs (not sure what that is in metric). There is no AKC class recognized at miniture or standard size, yorkies are a toy sized breed and that is what is recognized by the AKC. I do not know if there are different rules for someone that lives in the UK,but there are people on this forum that breed and show and they would be able to tell you. You will hear the term "teacup" refering to yorkies, poodles and chihuahuas, there is no such thing. It is a term used to describe a tiny dog,but is not recognized by the AKC. I hope this helps. It is how I understand the rules of the AKC but I do not show. |

| My both babies are KC registered but they are not show dogs just my family pets my only worries was that he might of been to small for her and didn't know if they could mate thought he wouldn't of been able to get on her but when I spoke to the vet they said she would of just lied down for him the vet said if he was big and she was miniature there could of been complications as the pups could of been to big for her to carry but cause he is only small it should all go fine xx |
