I may not say this right but in reference to meeting the "standard". The AKC states that a yorkie standard (what you will see in the ring) is not to exceed 7lbs (not sure what that is in metric). There is no AKC class recognized at miniture or standard size,yorkies are a toy sized breed and that is what is recognized by the AKC. I do not know if there are different rules for someone that lives in the UK,but there are people on this forum that breed and show and they would be able to tell you.
You will hear the term "teacup" refering to yorkies,poodles and chihuahuas,there is no such thing. It is a term used to describe a tiny dog,but is not recognized by the AKC.
