| I'm very paranoid. I'm from a very small town in Ohio, and over half of the people here are either on drugs or sell drugs. They see my puppy and see dollar signs. My husband installs alarm systems(and almost everyone knows that). But I've still had my house broken into. If my baby got stolen(or anything), and I called the police. They don't do anything. Not a report, nothing. :/ |

Don't wanna beat a dead horse , but adding a comment to leaving in the car even to run in somewhere. I really would not take her ANYwhere that you cannot take her in with you. A dog napping can be very fast, and if someone is really determined to have her, you might get hurt trying to save her when it all could have been avoided. On a personal note: When Tulsa joined our family, dh took her to the vet's. I told him vehemently: Do NOT leave her in the car anywhere. Soooo...he stops at 7-11 for a drink (within sight of the car), leaving her in the car! Well, something made me ask about leaving her in the car, and he confessed: "But, I could see her the whole time." Boy, did he get a reaming out but good! LOL It really is sad that we must be on guard all the time; but being the guardians of (any) toy breed is a mix of blessing and vigilance. Like someone mentioned earlier; I, too, find I don't walk my girls as much as I should - even in my (safe) neighborhood. It's sad to think that a pleasant outing is yet another 'on guard' time . Thanks for the update and "thank" BF for listening!

Paris: Always in my ♥ Donating YT Member | Oh don't get me started about people that leave their dogs in cars. I live in Florida where it gets very hot and I have called the police on people for this very thing. |

| I would NEVER leave her in the car for 2 minutes if I wouldn't sit in my car for an hour or more in the weather. As in not too hot or too cold, so in Houston that only leaves very small windows of time anyway. And weather okay to leave the windows up because having the windows cracked barely helps the heat and only makes breaking in easier. But I agree never is a much better time to leave any dog in a car alone.

| When I know I have to run to the store I always take the dogs and someone else with me. That way someone else stays in the car with them. Usually my 34 year old daughter lol. I hate to leave them at home alone, I do not trust my neighbors as about three months ago some one broke into their house with guns and just started shootin. I have a friend who is a police officer for my city and he said it was drug related so now I know drug dealers live three houses down from me. Great huh?

| This should make you feel less crazy... I'm so paranoid about someone breaking in and taking Chloe or just leaving the door open and Oliie getting out that I have four hidden webcams with motion detectors on them. I have an app on my iphone that sends me a text message when there is movement and I can open the app and look at what is going on, if I saw someone I would be able to call 911 immediately and tell them someone was in the house at the time, it also records motion events so if someone were to break in I would have their picture from multiple angles. I can also check on the babies anytime I am out to make sure they are okay. I also took off work friday b/c we had a high tornado threat and I was paranoid that I would be at work and a storm would hit and my dogs would get hurt or out. Trust me... anyone in the forum probably feels as paranoid if not more paranoid than you do we are all crazy together. |

| I sure can understand going home due to the tornado threat. I heard an interview of people who could not get to their homes after a tornado went through their town. Can't imagine how awful that would be. This tornado season is another terror. |
