| Webcams Does anyone have their own live webcam channel? How hard is it to set up? Are there free hosting sites..who do you recommend? I would love to set something up..not to look every day, but to check in on my two occasionally just to see what they do during the day Anyhow...just wanted some opinions and options for those that do this.

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | I love the ideas of webcams. There was a member who had one....ack, I can't recall who it was, but she'd share her link w/ us at times. It was great. Another person here took her yorkies to daycare in NYC every day, and the daycare had a webcam so we could watch a bunch of doggies, it was fab!

| My son used one for his dog when it was a puppy and I think he did it through Yahoo. I think this is the link to start with and go from there. At least it is one way to do it. I think though you had to have Yahoo Messenger installed to do it. I would just bring up my Yahoo Messenger, click on Danny's name and I think it would take me right to his webcam on Tex. I babysat that puppy via webcam for hours! I could talk to him and everything. Webcam - Yahoo! Messenger

| I had a webcam setup. If you have an internet connection and leave your pc on, you can setup one up too. it's really easy. I used a program call webcamxp 5 lite. Its free and allows you to view on camera. the paid version allows you view multiple cameras. There's also an app for your smartphone called jumi that will do the same thing. But webcam xp will let you view it from your iphone as well. I used to have one setup but my camera broke and I never replaced it. I loved it.....I was able to watch both of my furbabies. They mostly just slept so it got kind of boring. Brandi would start walking about a few hours before I got home and you could see her walking from window to window looking for me. The really creepy thing about webcams is watching while someone is breaking in. It never happened to me but it has to this one person. Really creepy. Oh and I never viewed it in the dark...too scare i would see ghost. |

| I watch this couple, Charles and Alli Trippy, every day on youtube, they do a vlog (video log) kinda like a video diary. Theyve done it every day for the past 1000+ days. They sometimes do live shows, on BlogTV. I have watched all their live shows. You just need a webcam and sign up for the site, then you can go live, and there is even a chat log where everyone can talk while watching. I've been in the chat log when there was over 5000 people talking at once, lol....Itd be fun to see someone from YT on there, and all of us have a chatroom to talk in.

| Oh sorry, didnt realize you wanted to actually record and then go back later to see what they did. My suggestion was more for if you wanted to host a live show that other people would watch.

| I think what we are wanting is to watch our pups live (and invite others to watch the boring show if they wish )

| We bought a security camera for the house and before we installed it on our porch, I put it up in the room where the dogs hang out while I'm at work. It was interesting to see. I thought my two would sleep most of the day, but they actually spend quite a bit of time walking around, playing and making a mess... lol. I definitely want to have a puppy cam permanently installed. It isn't that hard, I just plugged it into the wall and it used the wireless network. DH is the computer genius, but I was able to watch it on my computer and iPhone. Pretty cool.
