| More hair on the neck? Cloey is now 5 months old. I have not yet given her a hair cut. Im not sure if the breeder cut her hair before I got her or not. Her hair seems to be choppy in some places. So Im letting it grow out. Ive noticed that her hair is way puffy on the sides of her neck. It sticks out way far while the rest of her hairs lays smoothly along her body. Is this normal and just her growing her hair out? Will it eventually go down? Any hair tips are welcomed! |

| Tibbe's coat is largely cottony and sticks out on the sides, front and back of his neck - well, all over. I keep his trimmed back but if I let it grow, it would lie down more the longer it got but never sleek and smooth as a silky coat.

| Their coat can change after the first haircut and also if you use a good conditioner. I thought Optimus had the puffy fur type. After they cut it all off (like people -- he had baby hair!) it grew back in silky style but still rough. Put a good conditioner on it and voila! Smooth and lays nicely.

| Luma's hair on her neck is SUPER long and lays silky and flat against her body. It's so pretty...

| I think it depends on your yorkie's coat. I groom Tatiana's coat, and I know there are certain parts of her coat that are cowlicks. Tatiana has a silk coat, but some of her hairs angles at odds with the rest of the nearby hairs. For instance, in her face, there are hairs that grow INTO her eyes. With these hairs, I trim them short. Also, by the base of her ears, there are hairs that STICK OUT towards the center of her head (no matter how long or short I trim them). That's just how her coat is. There are cowlicks in certain areas. |
