| Strange Question BJ is now 5 1/2 months old and weighs 3 lbs finally. I know it is not good to compare one yorkie to another but she has a strange habit and I am puzzled. I know Yorkies are lovable and give kisses, Dee Dee would give me a bref kiss but would lick my husband's mustache. I lost her a month after I lost my husband. I now have BJ. She sleeps on the bed with me and when she wants me to get up for any reason, she comes up and kisses my face. Now she has started licking my face. I wear night cream and I worry about this plus she has began to start licking my arms and legs. Not constantly but I find this strange. Is she lacking something in her diet or is she over affectionate? Has anyone ever had this happen? Will she outgrow it since there is just her and me and I have been very protective about her and not taken her around many people or their pets until she has all her shots. |

| If she is a licker now she will always lick. My jewels is a licker and the first thing she does is lick you in the face in the ear anywhere she can lick when you pick her up. I turn my face from her and she stops however next time she has a chance she does it again. Shes many times licked lotion of of me and nothing has happened with it

| Sounds like my Nigel. No kisses on demand, but he will be curled up to me, give me a kiss on my arm and go back to sleep. It may sound funny to some, but that sweet little unexpected kiss makes me happier than the overly affectionate kisses of my other babies.

Donating YT 1000 Club Member | I can't find it here on YT but I remembered hearing about strange issues with dogs (& others) who ingested estrogen creams. Here's an article I found when I googled "estrogen cream & dogs". When Hormone Creams Expose Others to Risks - NYTimes.com

| Josie is a licker too. I want let her lick me in the face, but she loves her Poppa bear and he lets her lick him all over the face. Jack I think wants to lick but doesn't understand, so just smells you. I think that is his way of thinking he is licking/kissing. LOL |

| Gracie likes to lick sometimes but we have had to come to an agreement on this. I let her give me a couple of kisses on the face and then tell her no more. She is good about it. She knows I don't like to be licked a lot so she has learned when she is supposed to stop. The other day when we picked her up at the groomer's the first thing she did was reach out to give a kiss and she was happy with that. I have read that dogs lick because they taste the evaporated salt on the skin. Don't know if that is true. I don't think it is very good for a dog to lick your face when you have moisturizer or makeup on. |

| Brandi becomes an extreme licker when she is experiencing discomfort of some kind. If she starts licking me excessively I know she is has a tummy ache but other than that she's just licks me occassionally. Usually a light lick on the nose.....which is okay with me since I've seen her lick and eat some of the most gross things like cat poo and vomit. |

| Bear is a very enthusiastic kisser and takes it so seriously...haha...he makes me smile I often have sunscreen or make up on my face so I am mindful of it when he kisses me, but he has had no side effects.

Sounds like my Mozart(RIP). He was my "buddy", whom we helped across the bridge at 17. At different times, say, walking past me, he would turn his head to give me quick flick of his tongue. Never a full lick. Just a "hi Mom...whatcha doin'?" How I miss those sincere kisses...

I hope she doesn't do this to other people. She is so different from Dee Dee which is good but I worry about everything. She did stick her tounge up my nose but I thought she missed my mouth lol. This site is so helpful. No one I know has a Yorkie. |
