Gracie likes to lick sometimes but we have had to come to an agreement on this. I let her give me a couple of kisses on the face and then tell her no more. She is good about it. She knows I don't like to be licked a lot so she has learned when she is supposed to stop. The other day when we picked her up at the groomer's the first thing she did was reach out to give a kiss and she was happy with that.

I have read that dogs lick because they taste the evaporated salt on the skin. Don't know if that is true. I don't think it is very good for a dog to lick your face when you have moisturizer or makeup on.
