Thanks all for the suggestions..i really do appreciate it. Thank GOD all is well..i did do the lubricating and did get very friendly LOL...afterward he started licking and licking and what do ya know...he fixed it himself! The string was about 3 inches long. I was ready to take him to the vet in the morning if it didnt come out. I was so worried about this because i talked to someone who works at a vets office and she told me he would be ok til morning, she told me how to flush it with warm water but i didnt have to do that either. He worked until he got it out himself...aren't yorkies the smartest??? Thanks again everybody...whew! i feel so much better now, i was a nervous wreck lol

Yay! Just want to mention, if the string had wrapped around the penis and cut the circulation off, it would only hurt for a little while, then it would have become numb, and depending on how tightly wrapped the string became, tissue death would then start. Yorkiemom1 gave excellent advice for removing the string.

I wouldn't let a single, unusual incident jade me from getting a male dog. I've had many unaltered males and have never had an incident. I might, if I had a male with a humping 'habit' be picky about 'what' he humped having learned things like this 'could' happen, though.

I am very glad everything worked out okay for yorkiemomto4's baby boy. That was quite an ordeal. You are a good Yorkie Mom!
