I read SEVERAL post since joining this mind corrupted group that I don't necessarily agree with, do u think I had a comment to every one of those post?! NO!! There was nothing positive or helpful about ur post. I will continue to respond in this way to anyone who can't respect that and feels I should care that much about how they feel!!! It's funny how I just posted ONE response to PIPPNSMOM bcuz I could relate to her, and everyone BUT PIPPINSMOM had something to say!!! I have way more important things going on in my life that I need to put that attention into and she does not pay any bills in my house, she doesn't keep a roof over my head, hell she can't even clean up her own mess so guess what?! She will adjust to me and my way of living and doing things! Not the other way around and u all can choke on ur opinions. My dog is a very happy dog, a very friendly and playful dog who is VERY WELL TAKEN CARE OF!! BUT THE WORLD DOES NOT REVOLVE AROUND HER!! Simple as that! It's not always about her and just like a human kid she WILL NOT always get her way! Take it how u want!! I DONT CARE. She does not have anxiety issues, she's not depressed, she's never ISOLATED from me SHE JUST WANTS WHAT SHE WANTS!! That is her personality she doesn't like the word no, she'll bark and growl if she doesn't get her way, she's pushy and doesn't respect boundaries and at times very hard headed. So poor me!! Not poor dog!! I will not tolerate that behavior from her and at the same time she thinks she'll get what she want!! Oh noooo!!! Thanks for ur opinion but I don't need urs either!!!

Miss Monae we are probably very much alike in dog rearing principles and beliefs. How-ever here on this board every one can post and have an opinion different to yours. I have found in my lifetime that differences too can be informative.

Just ignore the advice you dont like and go on. This is still one of the most informative forums around. Millions of posts - lots of health infor etc.

It just might be a function of time and consistency with your gal. And sometimes that road is long n hard! I dont believe a well bred Yorkie is a velcro dog like many here expouse. They after all were bred to be ratters

My Yorkie has two kills so far - one rat and one chipmunk. He was not disciplined for this as this is what he was bred to do. And yes he will sleep on my chair with me and sometimes be up in the kitchen with his pack.

I trust that you will find the way through building a bit more independence with your gal. Good luck and go well

I understand what you're going through, did you raise her from a pup? My mom has a pug that is the same way as your puppy but he came from an abusive home where they use to beat him and he was scared to come to anyone so now he's got so much love he's literally my mom's shadow as your dog is with you she can't walk without almost tripping over him.

Hi Gemy, I sense that we are similar as well. I thank u and appreciate ur feedback because I can tell it comes from a good and helpful place rather than a judgmental place and with that being said, that is why I wish other would ignore my post if they are going to post all negative things and opinions that do not benefit me. I don't need to ignore them, they need to ignore my post and move on to something or someone else. Yes I know others will have opinions and that's fine because like I said before everyone is entitled but I don't need judgmental and finger pointing opinions I'm open to helpful and beneficial opinions. What good is "I feel bad for ur pup" or "find her a new home" to me. How does that help me?!....also she does come off as a "Velcro" dog it's weird but she does have that hunter or ratter in her as u say. She's only so far killed lizards and frogs that's what she goes after and when she's like that and outside on her own that independence in her shines bright and she's a big girl and doesn't have the need to be a Velcro but that's always short lived. She one min wants to be a baby and a grown adult on her own the next.

I think that our moderators deserve more respect then this. We all are going to have opinions that are different and we are all going to post them as long as we follow the rules. On open forums you can’t tell people what to post. If you get to post your opinion we get to post ours. In your first few posts on here you didn’t say growling or anything like that you said you dog followed you everywhere and annoys you and that was upsetting to me because those words just show a dog doing what they do when they love someone. All the dogs I have hd as a kid and now have followed me around and I never really got annoyed by it because they are just showing their love. When someone posts and it seems like they are angry at their dog for loving them it becomes sad. The growling thing was not brought up until later. No I would not have any of my dogs growling at me unless it’s a play growl. I work very hard when they are puppies to keep them from becoming agressive. In my life the world does revolve around my dogs they are my babies. No I don’t expect that to be how it is for everyone but that’s how it is for me. You should take a minute and see where some of us were coming from when you said your dog following you around annoyed you. If we all had the same opinion what would be the point of a message board? There is no mind corrupting here. The point of a place like this is to share opinions. It obviously does bother or you would have just ignored us if it didn’t.

I really don’t think how a dog is bred related to whether the dog is a “Velcro” dog. You are essentially saying that all of us with dogs who love us so much that they like to be near us or in the same room as us have poorly bred dogs and that dosent seem like a very nice thing. Oh well I will take the love of my poorly bred Yorkies over others any day!

Are you truly saying that selectment of temperament in breeding dogs is unimportant? Wow goes against everything I have ever wanted to breed for.

Wanting to be in the same room is not = to a Velcro dog. But if you cant move freely without a dog underfoot that is a problem.

Near is one thing in the same room normal but not clinging off your legs or feet.
