Does your dog wear a collar? Does your dog wear a collar? Riley has his Buddy Belt that I have his ID tag on. I have his dog license and rabies tags on my key ring, since they are both Gigantic..... and he is never outside without me. I only put his Buddy Belt on him when we are going out for walks.... so other than that, he is running around with nothing.... which is only inside. My niece came to visit and thought it odd that he wasn't wearing a collar. |
Mina wears her collar/necklace,her tags hang on it as well as a tiny bell. This is how I know where she is. All of the dogs (5) wear collars and tags, each one sounds different. Nobody can sneek into a room they dont belong in. |

Jack didn't even own a dog collar until recently. One of the posts I read was about a yorkie that had gotten out of the house and was missing. His "mom" was frantically looking for him and some of the posts said something about his collar and tags - if someone found him, they would hopefully call and return him. Missing yorkie's mom stated she didn't have a collar or tags on him so no one would know who he belonged to. It was that post that made me go get a collar and tag for Jack - he's not a fan of it - went almost 3 years without a collar, but I wanted him to have some kind of ID on him. We have not yet had him microchiped - I didn't think about it when he was neutered - my vet said because he is so small, she would rather do his microchip while he is under anesthesia and I don't want him to undergo that unless there is some other reason - like a dental but his teeth have been really good - so we are waiting. Anyway, he now wears a collar, just in case he sees a squirrel outside and decides to chase it.... (we are always with him outside but he doesn't always have a leash on) |
When I got Ralph I knew I needed to micro chip him, and the grooming/dog boutique I worked out said hey when you send his papers in just get the micrchip sent to you and do it yourself and I thought omg I just scan something put it on his collar...then it arrives with a needle and all this other stuff. So they did it while he was under getting nuetered as he was about 3 lbs at the time |
collars All six of mine usually have there collars with id's on them all of the time. But, I just gave them all baths and did not put them back on. Thank you for reminding me. They will back on in the morning. Without fail. |
Well, I think it comes without saying that I have a bit of a collar addiction! LOL. So yes he's almost always wearing a collar. I take it off for comfort at night though. |
No. Never. ID Tags on D-Ring of harness, and microchipped to boot-considering ID tattoos. If I did use a collar on my dogs (which I won't) I'd use a cat break away collar. |
my dogs are all microchipped but no collars. they all have all the necessary tags which they wear when on walks but not in the house. my reason: years ago i had a minature pinscher who always wore collar and tags even in the house. one night i came home from work she was on the sofa choking and gagging , i ran to her and noticed that somehow she had managed to entangle the tags in the weave of the sofa material. no idea how long she had been like that. scared me to death to think what i could have found if i returned home any later. so no collars & tags in the house |
Gracie wears a collar with her ID tag and a bell. When she was a puppy she would always try to get out the door when someone would open it. She left with the cable guy once. She is micro chipped but I decided it would be an added help if she ever did get away. If someone did find her they could find our phone number quicker than a chip. Thankfully she hasn't gotten out in quite some time but I'm not taking any chances. The bell helps me to locate her inside. |
Some people use the break away cat collars for their dogs to prevent choking. So many dogs get separated from their owners every year. It just makes sense to cover all the bases as far as making sure our pets make it home in the event that something unusual were to happen. |
no morgan just has his buddy belt and he is microchipped |
Mine wear collars for the noise too. two tags jingle so I know where to step and when they stand up on the bed so I can set them down. |
My dogs wear collars 24/7. They come off for baths or when wearing e collars. |
