Yes ma'am. My trio all wear collars. And fancy ones that is..lol They are required to have their NY state license showing if not we get a ticket. lol =) |
All of mine where a collar with rabies tag and ID tag with my name, address and phone number on it. The only thing that I never put on their ID tag are their names. If their name was on the tag, and if they ever got out of the house a took off out of the yard without anyone knowing. I think that it would be more tempting for whom ever found them to want to keep them. |
Anyone not get a rabies tag from their vet? We got a certificate but no tags. |

Now that I think about it, no one I know has a rabies tag for their dog. I know they're all up to date on shots, we just don't have tags. |

My Luci don't wear a collar yet. But want to get her one. Do you guys have a problem with thier hair matting, when they have thier collars on all the time? Just wondering my sister had a problem with matting on her maltese when she wore a collar. Mugwee1 |
Id tags are so important. Last week a little chi showed up at my front door. She had on a collar but no tags. This happens alot in my neighborhood. I was pretty sure I knew where she lived, she sounds like a squeeky toy when she barks and I have a neighbor that has a little dog that barks for about an hour everyday that sounds like that. Since she didnt have tags I couldnt let her in my house with the other dogs, didnt know if she had received shots. She ended up in a crate on my back porche. I had to watch for someone to be home. Finally the granddaughter arrived and I could see her looking around in their front yard. It was their dog. As I walked away after returning their little chi home all I could think was, she would of spent the night away from home if the granddaughter had not arrived before her grandmother got home (usually around 2 am),my neighbor would of been worried sick for several hours needlessly, the dog would of spent the night in a crate at a strangers house and not been checked for a chip until the next day,my schedule didnt allow. So my baby is chipped and wears tags. Her chip is checked every year at her annual exam. Her tags are replaced whenever they begin to show wear. She wears these when she is on a walk with her harness on. When we leave town I take a copy of her rabies certificate with me. |

I always let my dogs wear a collar for their id and rabies tags. I don't attach anything else to the collar. I use the harness for the leash. |
