| Gizmo and I want to say HI Gizmo is doing great. He has grown a little bit and now weighs 10 lbs 8 oz Hopefully he won't grow much more. He still loves to be groomed and I love grooming him. Here is a recent picture of him. It doesn't show how much his coat has changed. It is so soft so maybe that Silky coat he has been praying for is going to show up after all. The back of his neck is turning beige. The coat on his back is what I would call salt and pepper but the hair closest to the skin is more silver than black. Oh by the way that is my DH holding him. Now deep down in my heart I was still hoping the DNA test was wrong until I found this picture on the internet showing Chinese Crested dogs both hairless and the powder puff. Doesn't Gizmo look just like the Chinese Crested powder puff on the left. So now I am proud to say my Gizmo is a Chinese Crested powder puff who has the personality of a Yorkie. Seriously Gizzy is the perfect dog for us and we love him so much.

| How cute! If you want to know your dog's heritage, you can purchase a DNA pack at most pet stores. I got Marley's at the end-cap at Pet Smart for $25 because the box had been crushed. It's a spit test --no blood, although I did drop one of the swabs on the floor and was afraid he would come back 1/2 Berber carpet! I ended up talking to the lady at the testing agency about Marley's test. Without knowing anything about him other than he was male and about 2 years old, she told me he was Yorkshire Terrier -- one of the cleanest screens she had seen for Yorkie! He is a rescue -- I have no info on his heritage, but it was nice to have them validate his breed. I have a second Yorkie who's lineage is known... and people recognize my rescue as a Yorkie and then say, "what is your little guy?" He's tiny, with a squash face. When I first got him, he looked more like a monkey than a Yorkie. Go figure.... |

| We already did a DNA test. We adopted Gizmo 12/2/11 when he was probably 11 months old from the local Humane Society. They said he was a Yorkie Mix. I found this forum and most agreed that he looked like a Yorkie mixed with something else like a Chi. I was so excited because I had wanted a Yorkie for years. I couldn't wait so I purchased the DNA kit and waited for the results. Basically I just wanted to know what he was mixed with as I knew he was a Yorkie. Boy were we shocked when it came back Rat Terrier and Chinese Crested along with 5 other minor breeds. None of which was a Yorkie. If you want to look up my previous posts and you will see the adventure we have been on. At first I thought the DNA test was wrong but after finding the picture on the internet now I am sure it is correct.
