Glad you are re-thinking this and not planning to carry out breeding this baby. Thank you.

				   | OMG!! Well, let me start by asking you a simple question....Looking at your 11 pound male's 12 - 15 generation pedigree (at the very LEAST, a 7 generation),.... and I just KNOW you are familiar with all the lines in your males pedigree or you would not even be thinking about breeding.....with the extensive knowledge you have about each line, are they prone to produce breed standard offspring? Sit and do your columns, and the "x's" and "o's", "A", "AA", "Aa","aa", "B", "BB", "Bb", "bb", etc.... Large babies? Small babies? Are there any known congenital issues with any of the lines? If you know of a particular line that has a propensity to throw, say, liver shunts, do you know what lines you do NOT DARE cross or you will be guaranteed of producing liver shunts? Same is true for all of the other genetic conditions you know Yorkies are plagued with. Now, move to the little girls pedigree and do the same search. Make absolutely certain there are none of the "forbidden" lines behind her, that if crossed with your males lines, is likely to produce deformaties or issues. Now that you have thoroughly scoured both pedigrees, filled in your charts, you can move on to testings done on both the intended bride and groom. Hips, eyes, STD's, etc....you know what all the tests are....have they been done and certified? Is the little girl a free whelper? Has she ever been bred before or is she a maiden? How old is she? Answer all these questions, then we can move on to page 2. |

				   | Yes he is way to big to breed with a 4lb female plus he does not standard so he should not breed. Anyone who breeds should have a yorkie who is an excellent example of the the breed, is AKC registered, has been health checked, is free of LP, and if you have never done this before you should have mentor.

				   | OP says they are not going to do it ~ Good job OP for making the right decision. Now make another one and spay your little female.

				   | [QUOTE=sepulchralx;3856510]Thanks for the quick replies We won't breed the two, don't worry. I couldnt handle hurting any creature (in this case a small baby) on my own conscious. It seemed like it wouldn't be a good idea to begin with. I was just verifying what "common sense" was telling me. And thank YOU for having the good sense to ask. No question is a stupid question and if we ever seem a little harsh, its because we have your pups best interest at heart. I am glad you responded and put our minds at ease! You are a kind and caring person, I can tell. Welcome to YT hope that you stick around, you will learn EVERYTHING about Yorkies here! ![]()

				   | Just throwing this out there- my coworker recently lost her poodle mix 5 lb because her new LIve in boyfriend's dog mounted her- He is like a 20 shep mix. Well she did get pregnant and she ended up passing away! The babies were dead in her for weeks- my co worker didnt take her into the vet like I told her- That story goes way more in detail than what the Op was asking but it goes to show spay and neuter your animals.. unless you are a reputable breeder- Dont try to breed :0)
