| Toxic to dogs I just want to share that every one of you reading this should print the list of toxic foods and plants for dogs, put it on your fridge, read and re-read till you memorize. It has taken me awhile to be able to share this story, but I just want to say, heed the warnings and just because your baby doesn't have a reaction this time doesn't mean they won't next time. Just like us illness, sensitivities and allergies can come gradually suddenly and always unexpectedly. One day my Miss Mini was lethargic and very very ill. I rushed her to the vets, they immediately started IV's, bloodwork etc. As Miss Mini's health declined in the ICU of the hospital I was in the room with the vet trying to figure out what happened to my baby. I couldn't come up with anything as there was nothing different. My vet then asked me to start telling her from the moment I got up the day before until I found Miss Mini every detail of what I did and where Mini was...when I got to the end she went back through what I said and asked questions, I was sure she didn't get in to anything, food every thing was exactly the same as always. Then I said "Kim, I'm telling you last night she was fine, playing and having a blast while I threw grapes and she chased them and ate them....." She said "grapes?" I said yeah, she said about how many? I said exactly 5 and I know that for sure because each night I have 8 grapes and half a bananna. (I am diabetic) and I knew that it was only 5 cuz I was annoyed that I only had 3... My Miss Mini was in ICU for 4 days and almost died. At that time Miss Mini weighed 7.5 pounds and 5 grapes almost killed her. They were the little green grapes...needless to say, I NEVER have grapes in the house and have very few of those things on the TOXIC LIST in my house. I use nothing that isn't safe for people and pets, because you never know when a reaction can happen. Please people, take the list seriously and believe me it can be a very small amount. p.s. (I miss raisins in my cereal)

| I have the list memorized and go over it with my grandparents every couple of months and if either one of them has something toxic to Callie I make sure to tell them its toxic and watch them like a hawk. I don't sugar coat it either I say if Callie got a hold of that it would kill her.

| I hope people will share your information with family and friends to warn them of the danger to the kidneys of their pets. |

| Bread/Panettone Dangers Hmmm, speaking of toxic to dogs...my girlfriend Cocker/bichon mix (not purposely bred this way!) weight is 22lbs. got into a leftover stocking stuffer this morning...Panettone 3.5oz. ate the whole thing (she found the wrapper on the floor), he was shaking, panting and crying when she found him. Rushed him to the vets, xrays revealed the panettone bread had formed a ball and became a clump in his stomach that he couldn't digest and was causing a serious blockage. He is currently in surgery...... She called me because the vet told her that regular bread could cause this, and that they have seen it many, many, times. She called her vet when they opened and her vet went to see xrays etc., and agreed with the emergency vet. Will keep you posted. Say a prayer for Petey...

I ♥ Joey & Ralphie! Donating Member | Before YT, I didn't know about grapes and raisins either; it's just not one of those things that you think would be bad. I doubt if many people are aware of this. Thanks for the reminder.
