I let mine lick me only on the end of the nose if its in the face, but my girl has got me on the lips before by lunging at me. When she has, I would always wash it. It just seems gross to me and also seems like risky behavior.

Your Yorkie may not lick its butt (mine have never done that either), but they do sniff disgusting things on walks like bird crap sometimes, and I dont know for sure it they have contacted anything dangerous or not.

I also do give them rawhide strips at times to clean their teeth, and that is not exactly sterile. I sure as heck wouldn't get close if I gave them "Bully Sticks."

Dog's have cleaner mouths than cats and humans. I know it's hard to believe but true.

I love our furkids kisses and let them kiss me all the time. Even our boxers give us kisses, and I share my yogurt with them from my spoon. Of course my son says "that's just nasty Mom" but I don't care, their my babies and I love them, it makes my heart happy and my furbabies happy, so, so be it :-)

I should have added, if I'm sick with a cold or flu or anything like that though, I won't let them give me kisses and I won't share my yogurt with them. I don't want them catching anything from me and getting sick.

Maybe so, but I would be concerned about bacteria and other nasty things potentially on their whiskers or muzzles, especially after going on a walk. I doubt its a high risk to an adult with a healthy immune system, but its a question of risk vs. benefits for me.

I might be flamed here but I don't let Sheldon lick my face, he licks his bum bum and wee wee so there is no way he is coming close to my mouth nor face.
I know dogs mouth are cleaner than humans but I know for a fact my husband does not eat poop lol

I have to second that. In addition to all of that.....Brandi also eats the cat poo (if she can get to it), and the cat's vomit from the occasional hairball.

But every now and then I let her lick my nose . I"m not that uptight sometimes I'll say "give mommy a kiss" and she will very lightly lick me on my nose. How can I resist that even with all of the things I've seen her eaten? Okay so maybe I am a little weird too.

Roxy is the make out queen of the family. Thankfully she does not self groom and rarely eats animal poop but will roll in tin any chance she gets. Zoey and Buddy will lick any part of you but your face. Cozy will groom behind your ears and base of neck but not on people lips. Lucy will lick a few times then moves on.

Yoshi rarely kisses but Prissy kisses a lot and will kiss everyone, she may be just a bit easy.

Ahi kisses everyone if they will let her. Especially babies. I let her lick my mouth (closed of course) and my nose...but I draw the line when she is reaching my brain. LOL

My youngest daughter lets her lick in her mouth...ewww gross.

My hubby will let her sniff his face but not lick and she seems to know this because she won't even try. But he allows her to cover his mouth with her neck. And it's only something she does with him.
