| ![]() I have always used advantage and never had a flea problem. I tried to switch to Front line one year and they got fleas so I am sticking to advantage

My furkids Donating Member | ![]() I wouldn't use garlic either...especially fresh....there is a thread on here with foods that are bad for pets...I used to use brewers yeast for my golden retriever. Have only had a couple on each one since we got them...MO...I wouldn't use chemicals on my dogs...I (have posted this many times...sorry for the repeat). 1 Cup of water 1- 20 drops peppermint oil put in spray bottle...shake, wet a paper towel and rub it all over them....starting under neck and work your way down...it does NOT make them greasy they smell good and makes their hair soft. This came from a holistic vet in our area...because it is all natural you have to do this every couple of days...we use this and haven't had a flea or tick since... May be a little more work but worth it! I think

| ![]() I don't like to use frontline or like products on my pets. There has been too many horror stories from them for me to feel safe. I haven't had much luck with DE on fleas (Love it for worming though). I have used cedar oil for the last two years and have had really good luck with it. Dr.Bens Paws & Claws | Natures Defender

| ![]() I have tried various natural remedies but have not been able to keep up with the bugs. I live out in a wooded area that also has tall grasses. If it were not for the cats I think the natural might have a chance but with them going outside and picking up these critters it is just too much to keep up with. I thought one year that the Advantage had quit working but found that I was applying it too soon after a bath. Once I started applying it correctly again (at least 3 days after a bath) it started working as it was supposed to. I usually only treat them 4 months out of the year but with the warmer weather this year I had go to 6 months out of 12. It seems like every year the onslaught gets worse. |

I saw Trifexis at my vets this past weekend and ask about it. I thought they didn't recommend giving the flea and heartworm treatment at the same time.....but that was a couple of years ago, so I have a1ways separated them. But, the vet said it was safe and recommend it. I have just purchased a 6 pack of comfortis a couple of weeks before and have some heartguard on hand....when I run out of them I will see if I want to change to Trifexis. But, most of the time I like for the product to be out awhile before I try it. You will have to let us all know how it works for you. | |

| ![]() Hi all... It has been a very long time since I have posted! Life has been very busy since I have gone back to school to finish my degree; however, I wanted to chime in on this thread. I use the brewers yeast with garlic tablets along with pennyroyal and it does an amazing job at keeping my pups flea free. |
