| Questions I know I may seem a tad bit early LOL but I don't care. I will be getting my Yorkie in 2 weeks and he will be 5 months. I have heard nothing but great things about Yorkie Splash and Shine (http://www.yorkieshampoo.com/) and I was wondering if it would be okay to use it when I give him baths or will he be to young? I kinda want to start him early Also any advise from those who groom their yorkies themselves? I am considering it after all the stories I have read on here. Any recommendations? I have two weeks for any preparations

| Hi congrats on your new baby. I have never used the splash & shine but i have heard many good things about it. Hopefully at 5 months your yorkie will be used to grooming already it will make it much easier for you. If not just take it slow when he first comes home. I groom oscar myself , i started the moment he came home at 12 weeks. If you get a good yorkie book they usually have a detailed section grooming. You should brush and comb him everyday and clean the corners of his eyes with a damp cloth. Get a good conditioning grooming spray cause you do not want to brush him completely dry. Just mist his coat before brushing. I use the chris christensen wooden pin brush. It is awesome. Well hope this helps |

| Yorkie Splash and Shine is an all natural product. I stated using it when Gracie was about 10 months old. The owner has a facebook page so you could ask there if you want to make sure. Of course you never want to get any cleaner in you puppies eyes. Yorkie Splash and Shine - Pet Supplies - Lebanon, MO | Facebook There is a grooming section here on YT that has some good grooming tips and a few videos. To start out you should have a metal grooming comb and a good set of dog nail clippers. I would never advise cutting your dogs nails by yourself. And if you have no experience doing it I'd take him to a groomer or vet tech at first. |

| I always recommend two - three books for my new buyers: "Yorkies for Dummies", "Yorkshire Terrier: A Smart Owners Guide", and I also like "Barron's Dog Bibles: Yorkshire Terriers". These are super books to have in your "Yorkie Library"! |
